I was talking with someone about the Bram Stoker's Dracula workprint. Does anyone here have it? Low gen would be great.

I've got it, but it looks pretty terrible. From what I understand, all circulating copies do.

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

It probably looks as bad as the version that's used on the laserdisc. Any chance I could get a copy from you?

Years ago I managed to get hold of a few workprints. Apart from some mentioned here I got Predator 2. This one bascially had no credits and was pretty much the same as the released version. Darkman, which was identical to the released version except for some FX that weren't matted properly and probably had to be cleaned up a lot before release. And finally Starship Troopers, which had all the deleted scenes from the DVD still in it but a lot of unfinished FX work resulting in some "FX missing here" frames. Most of the workprints I've seen seem to be only slightly different to the finished versions. Would be interesting if preservations of ones with a lot of differences were done. Especially as a lot seem to be better than the final cuts.

The only workprint that I think I've ever seen that I prefer to the final theatrical cut is the 2003 remake of Willard, maybe the one of One Hour Photo. All the others I've seen (which is a good amount) are just different, rougher. Nothing really that makes them "better" per se.

I'd be interested in the ones of Starship Troopers and Darkman that you mentioned, if you perhaps want to trade.

Hi. I too am very interested in the Fight Club workprint. Any info on how to get it?

Also, does anyone know if it is the same version referenced (I think) on the DVD somewhere, possibly in the booklet or one of the commentary tracks, where they were talking about how he cut the movie until only what was absolutely necessary remained?

I just got a copy too, but it's missing a lot. It's only 37mins long. Is yours complete?

Ah yes, I got my copy from Stumpy too. Great trade, I got everything from his end just fine, but he just won't reply to my emails now asking why it's only 37mins long :\

I haven't watched it all the way through yet, but there is a running timecode and there seemed to be a lack of score. It's either four or two reels worth of the workprint, I think. (Four if they were 10mins each, two if they were 20, like reels usually are.)

could be an intresting extra feature for our Book of the Dead project!

I sent him a small trade list (didn't include anything from our fan editor's here or anything on the boards mods!) but i have yet to hear from him.

Why is that site selling Alien Redux? Isn't that a fan edit?

The one he's got there is actually one I traded to him, made a couple years before Appendix #2. Got the copy I have from a trader named Justin.

They were selling Alien Redux for ages before Meerdermow released Appendix 2.

Meerdermow states in the opening of the dvd that he hopes that the original team who created Redux enjoys the upgrade.

Here's what I found out from Stumpy about the ED2 workprint:

from what i understand thr work print is only about 40 minutes long, i'm pretty sure it only contains the deleted scenes

I'll have to watch to verify, but at least if that's true, it's the good stuff.

I'm going to buy this if it has any deleted material - have you had a chance to look yet?

Not yet, hopefully in the next couple days. If it is unique material, I'm thinking a bonus disc for the Book of the Dead set is in order, pretty much with this and Within the Woods.

I have a workprint of the 1996 Dr Who movie (vhs to dvd conversion with a standalone machine it looks like), the Kill Bill "reel" cut that was leaked, and will be getting the workprint of Payback called "Parker" here in the next week or so. I'd love to get that ED2 as well as any other workprints if anyone wants to trade or something.
