That's three baby!

Sean, did you ever think that maybe if the federal government wasn't so huge we wouldn't need such a high taxes? Why, may I ask, do you think we need taxes? This country got along just fine without them before. The only thing they're used for now is wasteful government spending.

Ron Paul doesn't stand a chance.

Well we could lower them once we bring all these troops home. And don't doubt Paul yet because there is like a fucking year to go. Well I bet the Dems will win. As for me I think both parties are full of idiots. Gore should have been elected in 2000.

I shudder to think what that would have been like.

Anyway, had he been elected president he would not have had the chance to become an award winning director. That would have been truly ashame, what would the world be like without the film that is An Unconventional Truth.

I can just see after 9/11 Gore standing up and complaining about all the energy wasted in the rescue effort and cleanup up ground zero. He probably would have appealed to Bin Ladin in an effort to join together to prevent global warming, or demanded that he buy the United States enough carbon offsets in order offset all the dangerous carbon caused by exploding commercial airliners.

Hahahahaha. You crack me up Sean. Lower them once we bring the troops home? Do you even have a SINGLE CLUE?!?! They weren't increased to send the troops to Iraq! The war isn't even in the budget! Sean, you continue to prove that you don't know a damn thing about any of the issues or what's really going on. Seriously, at least do a little bit of homework before making such stupid statements.

Yeah, there's a year to go and Ron Paul isn't even in the top 5. There's maybe 6 months before the primaries. If he doesn't get nominated, he'll have to run as an Independent. If he gets any kind of the following like Ross Perot got (which is REALLY doubtful), it'll hurt the Republicans more than it'll help them.

Since you seem so hell bent on making sure taxes don't go away, I'm sure you'll be voting for a Democrat.

Huckabee is the LAST person I'd want as the republican candidate. I'd vote for Romney or Giuliani before him. Uhg, Hillary, despite being a push-over, might actually win the final election. The Republican party is so fucking pathetic.

I talk to many people who are already convinced Hilary has it. Kind of silly if you ask me. I really don't think she is as sure fire as she is marketed as. Hear her talk and you'd think she was running against George Bush. Everything is "Bush this, Bush that." She does realize he is old news now, right? There are other people she needs to be running against now, it doesn't matter a hill of beans at this point if Bush is hero or an evil dictator, he isn't running for election. I think she appears as strong as she does because that is the way she is depicted by the media. I think this fact weighs on people, and they get it pounded in their head from the TV that she has practically already won, and so they believe it to be a fact. I am not so sure America is ready for a female President yet, at least not one like Hilary. I also have faith that there are still plenty of people who can see through her. Not saying that it is impossible for her to be elected, just getting kind of tired of hearing that she might as well have already won, that simply isn't true.

I quickly read Fred Thompson's most important political views and I have to say I agree with all of them.

Well, Iraq would still be a stable country with Saddam in place. Thousands of US soldiers wouldn't have died for nothing (not to mention the countless thousands of Iraqi civilians). Maybe Osama would have been actually killed or captured. Oh and the US wouldn't have wasted over 500.000.000.000 dollars.

I agree. Hillary is not a strong candidate and having Republicans talk about her so much is getting really obnoxious.

The thing about Hillary is that people can't stand her guts whenever she talks about the actual issues. She's got nutty ideas and her demeanor is offensive. All the Republicans had to do was promise that they'd fight for tax cuts, immigration security, and "originalist" judges and a Hillary campaign would have been easily defeated. Now it sadly looks like she might actually have a chance simply because the Republicans don't seem to know what the hell they should be fighting for.

I really wish for once a credible third party candidate would run and shake up the washington establishment. The problem I have with Republicans/Democrats now is that they are so afraid to touch huge entitlements like Social Security/Medicare, cause that is a huge reason why our budget is in a huge deficit. What happens when a Dem or Rep gets elected, most in their party tow the party line, and nobody thinks indepedently, so you just have the usual partisan bickering, and nothing get done. There are simple measures that could fix Social Security like changing the retirement age to 70-72 for all baby boomers who will start receiving it in 2010, as I know many friends parents/aunts/uncles who are in the workforce in their 70's and DONT want to retire. But neither party is afraid to touch it because they may lose seats in congress.

And for taxes, we don't need them raised, they are high enough in this country! We pay Federal, Gas, State, Local, Property, Fica, Sales, and it all adds up to a heavy burden on every citizen, and if we got more of our money back, we could save or spend to help the economy instead having the govenment finance many of the needless programs.

Right now, I am leaning towards Guiliani, but he doesn 't have a shot unless he gets some social conservative support in the primaries.

You must not have looked into this fucking goofball Huckabee. He believes that there is a flying man in the sky who is the supreme ruler of the universe. For shit sake it's like he's from the Middle Ages. Zeus anyone? Give me a fucking break. One thing I will say is that this type of childish behavior is to be expected from a person with a last name as ridiculous as Huckabee.

If Huckabee gets nominated, the Democrats will win the election in 2008, simply because Huckabee will not be able to bring over independents, cause he will be the religious right candidate if he takes the nomination. He doesn't believe in evolution and that will rally the right wing of the party, but will probably turn off all moderates for pulling for a republican, and independents usually decide elections.

The problem with the democrats and why they always lose is that they put up candidates who try to appeal the looney lefties, like Dukakis, Mondale, and McGovern, and forget about the center. The republicans usually win cause they put a candidate who is appeals to the religious right, but is able to not be perceived as a right winger, and that is tough to do. We can debate what George W. Bush REALLY believes in, but in 2000, he was able to please the rightwing in the primary, and then run as a compassionate conservative to win the election......well win the Electorial College

Politics is all about perception and how you sell yourself, and unfortunately issues usually come in second to how the candidate presents himself.

They want to please the flying man rather than the people, I'd rather believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster. What I have against it is all the people killed over it and all controlling try to do. Why does it matter so much about gay people marrying to these people? I don't see anything wrong with it. It won't hurt anyone why do people feel so threatened. They also want to put creationism in school which is wrong.

I for one would like to see Micheal Moore run for President. The guy openly admits that he makes things up, exaggerates, and bends truth in his documentaries because his obligation is to entertain, not to truth. Yet, even with he himself admitting this, people still like to believe everything he puts in his documetaries and books. This makes him one of the most honest figures out there. While he lies, he admits to it, which makes him pretty honest. I liked honesty. While tons of people believe Moore's lies, it is their own faults because they look over the fact that he is a self proclaimed liar, so in effect they are lying to themselves. I bet if more people would choose to be honest about their lies like Moore is, they would have a better time getting away with their lies. It just goes to show people will believe what they want to just because they want to believe it. Moore would be the perfect canidate, because everyone would loves what he says choose to believe him, and for those of us like myself who choose to believe him when he admits to dishonesty can feel reassured that he is lying. I would rather be lied to by my President and know for sure he is lying than have to question his every word, and try to figure out what to believe and what not to believe. Too bad politicians can't be more like Moore more and say, "Hey, I am full of shit but you love me anyway! Vote for me!!!" (thunderous applause)

There now. A legitimate complaint. I was merely taking a shot at his implication that anyone who believes in God is inherently unworthy of a leadership position.

I wasn't suggesting that he would be "unworthy of a leadership position", only that it is not wise to elect retards or crazy people (see George W. Bush).

Please feel free to point out the part where I said I was threatened by Micheal Moore, because I sure can't find it. I was not all that unserious about what I wrote. I am really getting sick of politicians. A politician that says, "Hey, of course I was lying, I am a politician after all!!" would be a breath of fresh air to me. I think Micheal Moore might be a good alternative to a good number of the canidates. Of course then our country would be a huge joke, but maybe we deserve that.

But as far as being threatened by Michael Moore, it does say something about our country that we are so willing to believe what we want to hear, even when it is proven false we go believing it unphased. Maybe I should feel threatened by that fact, but I really don't. As far as politics and the world situation goes, there is really no reason to feel threatened by any of it anymore. What will be will be.
