Episode II: Shroud of the Dark Side
“Back when we made Star Wars, we just couldn’t make Palpatine as evil as we intended. Now, thanks to the miracles of technology, it is finally possible. Finally, I’ve created the movies that I originally imagined.” -George Lucas on the 2007 Extra Extra Special HD-DVD Edition

With those two, there's no need for a third.

To all those who have said that John Williams is second to Howard Shore...
John Williams is second to nobody.
He is the film composer of our time.

Hmmm... as a body of work I personally prefer Hans Zimmer to Danny Elfman (apart from his Boingo days!). And Howard Shore has come a long way from Saturday Night Live..
War does not make one great.

I'd give Goldsmith the 2nd under Williams. And then Bernard Herrmann. Elfman reminds me too much of Horner: They recycle--and I mean BLATANTLY recycle--a lot of their earlier scores without so much as a superficial tweak here and there. Granted, the same can be accused of Williams, but I feel he's versatile enough that he can duck that.
Morricone has always been fun, although when he's off, he's WAY off.
