It was particularly windy the other day. I went to meet some old friends and entered the meeting place with some particularly wind blown hair. My best friend since grade school looked at me and said, "Looks like someone forgot to comb their hair today." To which I responded, "Dude, when was the last time you saw me comb my hair?" His response was something along the lines of, I don't know, ten years or so? That got me thinking about it, and I realized he was right. It has probably been a good ten years since I actually combed my hair, maybe longer. I stopped combing it when I graduated high school. But I am sure there were a few occasions after that time when I combed it, like my wedding, for one.
Okay, so my hair looked pretty awful the other day when I met my friend. I was running on only a few hours of sleep, woke up after the last possible minute, rushed to get ready, and didn't have time to do much with it. I don't just go around with tacky looking lazy person unkempt hair, I wear it messy, but I actually spend a bit of time on it every morning making sure it is the right kind of messy. I even have several different styles of messy I've discovered over the years, depending on its length or the occasion.
I'm lying in bed entirely unable to sleep, and for some reason I starting thinking about my hair. My thought process jumped from one thing to another, and suddenly, I am thinking of all the possibilities I might be missing out on by not combing my hair. I could achieve so many more looks by purchasing an item that cost, literally, less than a dollar. I'll probably never go through with it, but I do find myself intrigued... I feel like my beard is getting long enough that I should start combing it, so it would be a worthwhile investment either way.
You know how you read different posters' posts in different voices? I'm having a hard time not reading this post in the voice I read Twister's posts in. Weird.
