Well I just got the bill from my stay at the hospital. It was around $4000. My insurance is only paying around $900, so I still have over $3000 to pay out of pocket. Is this what I’ve been taking money out of every paycheck for years for? Because I’d rather just go without health insurance if only that were legal and I’d known it was this worthless.

The insurance issue is a bit messy to say the least. You don’t have to make big payments though, if you send them $5.00 a month, they cannot refuse it.

Actually I was going to do that but the hospital is being a dick and saying I have to pay it in 6 months, which puts me close to $500 a month and I just cannot afford that. If they give me more like 3 years I could afford that.

Check your state laws, I’d bet that their demand is unreasonable and that you can make minimal monthly payments as long as you keep making them. I would think most states allow this and wouldn’t allow them to come after you for making consistent payments in a good faith effort to clear the bill.

I have to say I am used to having an early sunset this time of year. I don’t think I’d like that ended.
If I had any sort of substantial personal life, this is the point where I’d take a break from ot.com and stay away for a while. There’s been a dearth of genuine fun and good humour around here for a long time now and it only seems to be getting worse and worse and worse as time goes by.
