My partner and I just bought a moka pot, some espresso powder and cups. I usually don’t drink coffee, except for an occasional espresso, and we don’t have too much space in the kitchen, so we never bought a coffee machine, but she got tired of that instant coffe stuff, that she was using for the past years, that’s why we got the moka pot. So far, the first attempt was a failure, we had no idea what exactly to do and the result was very bitter, I guess we have to figure it out and try it a few more times. The only good thing coming out of it was that we found this tutorial.

Second attempt today. The coffe was less bitter, but now the damn pot is stuck and I can’t disassemble it anymore.

EDIT: Now my hand hurts from desperatrly trying to unscrew the pot.

I dunno what that is, but buy an Aero Press and grind your own coffee. I’m a coffee snob and I will drink nothing else (unless it’s real espresso) anymore.

I’m talking about this:

The top and bottom part are connected by a screw thread.

I just looked up how they work. It’s an interesting design. Similarish to an Aero Press.

My worry would be that passing water that hot through the grounds would potentially burn the coffee though.

The reason for the bitterness yesterday might be that I turned up the stove too high. This morning I turned it down a bit and it was much better. If I ever get that thing unstuck, I will try it again with even less heat. I’m just glad that we bought one of the cheaper models.

Let me know if you perfect it. I would consider trying one out if they’re good.

Can I bitch about all the new Ghostbusters bitching? So it the other day and it was quite funny. Was it amazing? No. Was it terrible? Absolutely not. There is nothing god awful about it or really anything about it that should make anyone angry. It’s very much a reboot and not a remake. Though the concept is the same and there are a number of nods, the plot and characters are different as is the style of humor. The latter point is obviously where the dividing line comes in because this is much more of a comedy than the original ever was and if this kind of comedy isn’t your thing (and no I would not necessarily call it low brow) than the movie isn’t for you obviously.

Point being, if you’re not into it, don’t see it. But there’s nothing to hate about it and I think maybe a few too many people have sticks up their asses about the mere fact that it exists and are simply refusing to entertain the possibility that it might actually be an enjoyable movie-going experience. I understand that some people have a deep love for the original but to me it’s no sacred cow and while I love it a lot I would never rank it as an untouchable all-timer. In my mind it’s a fun movie with a cool concept so I really don’t mind seeing a new movie take the same concept and run in a different direction with it.

You’re wrong about all of this. And for proof, I present a review from Milo Yiannopoulos, appropriately posted on the only website unafraid to tell the truth, Breitbart.

But I can’t. You see, I strive to be honest with my audience. I went into Ghostbusters with a clear and impartial mindset, like some tall, slim, and devastatingly handsome statue of justice. (But no blindfold. It would be a crime to cover up these eyes.)

LOL! That’s the best part.

I think the best part is that he thinks he went into Ghostbusters with a clear and impartial mindset.

I think that it is quite obviously a joke.

I’d have loved nothing more than to give Ghostbusters a glowing review. Seriously! Can you imagine a better troll? Extolling the virtues of a film that my loyal readership has been warring with social justice warriors over for months?

There’s no joke there.

It’s not.

Also: I’d like to bitch about how ywhx was talking about using the title feature for images in order to make them accessible for people with screen readers, but the last few images I’ve seen from him, he’s just made the title a word he’s using to describe the image, which is just as useless for people with screenreaders as having no title. You’re supposed to describe the image.

I wanted to add another sentence but I thought posting that would bring me under more scrutiny. Not posting it would also bring me scrutiny.

What about this post? Did you evaluate how much scrutiny this one would precipitate?
