You seem like a violent fellow.

Nothing wrong with a little violence as long as you direct it towards the right people.

This particular piece of worthless shit fellow, for instance.

Are there any companies out there who will hire people who can't give them an address or phone number any more?

Does anyone know if there are any states where you will not get arrested for living on the streets?

Because there are no job in my piece of shit state so I need to walk somewhere that has jobs but in most places now you get arrested for living on the streets and most companies will not hire you if you don't have a phone or an address.

There are no jobs because Bush wrecked the country and the Republicans continue to make trouble.  I am nearly 30 and can't do a thing with my life because the republicans got rid of all the jobs and if I go where they are I will be arrested.  we really need a new strong leader to put things right in this country.

I am so sick of dealing with crap created by powerful people I have no control over.  i am sick of not having I life.  I am this close to killing myself and I am not joking.  There is no hope left in this country, none.  There is no chance of ever getting a life because that has been taken from us by the rich and powerful.  I literally have nothing to look forward to in my life.  I really wish my mom had gotten an obortion because i would be so much better off then.

There is no way to get rid of the republicans and as long as they exist there is no hope in this country.

DrCrowTStarwars,

I understand what it is like to be out of work and having no life, but killing yourself is not the answer.  Think about what it would do to your family.  There has to be a better solution to your problems.   Surely there are goverment programs and whatnot that can help with your job situation.   As for getting a life, well . . . I am the wrong person to give advice on that.  I am sure someone else in here can give you some advice on that.   But I am sure is that killing yourself won't get you a life.  There has to be a better way.   Don't kill yourself.

Yeah i guess you are right, thanks.

I am trying to work on things,it just feels really hopeless sometimes.

I guess I am just feeling depressed and lashing out because I just turned 29 and most of my friends from when i was a kid have lives and are getting married and here I am just sitting in a spare room writing.

Sorry,I just sometimes get really depressed and lash out.

Thanks for the help.

no problem, I understand how it feels to see others you grew up with having a life and getting married and whatnot, while you are out of work, have no life and no girlfriend or wife.  I know how that feels all too well.

Yeah thanks a bunch.  I have just been going through a lot since I turned 29 last month and I hit a low point today but I got through it and I am feeling much better now.

I have an appointment to see a doctor and hopefully get back on my meds in two days so things are looking up.

Thanks again:)

Just keep pushing.

I'm in a crap situation myself where my Canadian work visa expires on the 27th of next month and my permanent residency application won't be reviewed or accepted for at least a couple months after that, and as a recent college grad, it's not easy to find work in my field here, which means I may be torn away from my girlfriend for who-knows-how-long until everything is okayed.

It's not as bad as situations come, but it's depressing to think that even after a year and a half together that we're still days away from a long-distance relationship, even with countries as supposedly diplomatically close as the US and Canada, and it gets depressing.

Adam Carolla once gave a good piece of advise to a Loveline caller that I've remembered ever since and I'll paraphrase it here:

Depression is like a giant brick wall that extends into the clouds that you have to climb, but you can't stand back and look up at the whole thing or you'll get discouraged. You just have to take the wall one brick at a time, just focus on one brick after another, and you'll eventually be over the top. Depression saps you of your will to do exactly what you need to do to get out of it, which is work. Get out, be active, take long walks and listen to classical music.

This bit of advise is really something that extends to everything. Sometimes even the things I need to do daily seem daunting from afar, but if I focus on one task at a time, I'm done before I realize I was working most times.

Curling up into a ball and laying down is just as easy as having everything handed to you, and neither one is rewarding like taking a bad situation and turning it into a good one through hard work and perseverance. You just have to push and push and push some more; take that brick wall one brick at a time.

Keep Circulating the Tapes.

Listen, if you want to play "Fantasy Casting" for a movie role that's a lot of fun. But DAMMIT try harder than just picking someone who's already played a character that looks similar.

LUCY FREAKIN LAWLESS is pushing 50! She is not the only woman who could do Wonder Woman!

YES the cast of "Firefly" were good, but they are not the best choice for every role!

Well then I don't think you want to hear that I have always told people that I think Gina Torres would make a good Wonder Woman?

I'll just keep that thought to myself.

My fantasy casting almost always involves actors who are either already dead or of vastly different ages than the characters I'd like them to play.

I guess I should have saved this for the random thoughts thread, though.

So does mine come to think of it but the first time I saw Firefly I thought "Hey she would be perfect as Wonder Woman".

This song

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8WZ-Ba-gps

has to be the worst '80s song I've ever heard.

Technically, there are worse songs out there -- almost all mainstream music made in the last two decades immediately comes to mind -- but the component elements of this song just come together in a way that is just embarrasingly, epically bad. The instrumentation is beyond godawful and the lyrics are freshly squeezed shit.

Ironically, I'd probably hate this song less if the singer herself was horrible, but she's actually pretty good, which just makes the suck surrounding her stand out that much more.

You need to listen to more 80s music if you think thats the worst LOL. It's written by living-genius Prince by the way. Any song that has a lady inviting the listener to "Come inside my sugar walls" can't be all bad ;-)

This 7min Dance Mix is pretty damn great

Sheena's best song IMO

Sugar Walls isn't that bad (it sort of sounds like an unfinished version of Open Your Heart To Me by Madge). It's not particularly remarkable which is odd coming from Prince of the era (and I think we know what he was thinking about when he wrote it).

This was the decade of Sonya, Sinitta, Chris De Burgh, Bros. Soap stars regularly charted so some nondescript vanity piece penned so that the artist formally known as the artist formally known as the artist can get into Shena's sanctum of sucrose is tame by comparison.

Also in the same genre...

That reminds me, I haven't watched 'Purple Rain' in at least a couple of months ;-)

But I did have the album on in the car the other week :-)

Prince kicks ass, especially in the 80s! Almost every album he made in that decade is essential (except maybe Batman).
