I’m not going to tiptoe around it I’ll just say it.

Being a grown man and liking my little pony enough to watch it without your children is fucking creepy. We can be progressive and tolerant all we want, but next time you see someone your age in public, picturd them sitting at home watching Dora the Explorer or Blues Clues my themself and tell me it didn’t make you uncomfortable.

Honestly, doesn’t make me uncomfortable.

This. Besides, there’re numerous reasons why an adult might like watching certain kids’ shows. Maybe they find the music catchy. Maybe they’re drawn in by an attractive actor/actress. Maybe they just find it so bad it’s good. It doesn’t have to be for abnormal reasons.

Yeah well we’re still waiting for the actual reasons.

Bronies are weird. Sorry. If that’s judging them, so be it.

tolerance much?

I don’t understand.

He’s expressing bemusement at your use of symbols.

I thought he was making fun of Warbler claiming that being in favor of tolerance requires approving of someone’s taste in TV shows.

I was, but then I was making fun of the constant “?” posts.

constant “?” posts? I don’t do it constantly. When was last time I only posted a “?”?

Approximately 16 minutes ago.

I meant when was the last time before that one.

About an hour before that one.

link?

I do not understand.

I’ve looked at my posts. I went back to 10/22 and still couldn’t a find a post where I responded with only a “?”. There were other times when I responded with a “?”, but then went into more detail as to my question. I don’t know what should be bothersome about that.

I also see what you did there with the phrasing of that statement.

So what?

Agree to disagree.

I would like to point out that I left the forums for several hours and yet you guys kept talking about MLP or talked about talking about it.

Let people like what they like and stop mocking and ridiculing them for it.

We talked about why people watch it, which is much different than straight-up talking about it. Even that was mainly because people kept repeating questions about it.

Well, for one thing, I’m not a Brony. I consider Bronies to be a part of the fandom in the same way “Trekkies” are. In that eccentric extra-dose-of-nerd sort of way. I am also not a Trekkie.

I like more than just MLP, you know. It doesn’t consume my thoughts. It’s not my favorite show ever. I do like other things. Just also that. Big freaking deal. If you don’t understand why and you know you’re not going to, then just leave it alone.

Don’t mock me like that.

You know, plenty of people I know in real life think it odd of me to know as much about Star Wars as I do. But I have to explain to them that I only know nitpicky things about Star Wars because I hang out here and other people here mention them, especially in Ady’s and Harmy’s threads.

Early Trek fans embraced Trekkie until the media turned it into a derisive term. Trekker came to be the preferred moniker by the 80’s.
The average non fan doesn’t see a difference between the two. Luckily I’m getting too old to care if people think I’m weird or not.

Where were you in '77?

I’d still like to know why you enjoy it. What do you like about the show?

I promise not to mock.

What would say to me if I asked why Johnny Weir dresses like this?

I’d answer you by saying that it’s a combination of performance art, image-crafting, and self expression.

I know, I’m answering you. By the way, dressing for attention is less confusing and easier to understand than watching a show geared specifically toward small children and only small children.
