IIRC, YouTube used to limit you to ten minutes per video.
Split my video in half, uploaded it in two parts, and now they’re both blocked – within an hour after uploading them. Funny how poorly spliced-together clips from an episode of an unremarkable series which ended over a decade ago can warrant such immediate attention. But I suppose now I know why clips from that particular series are so hard to come by on YouTube.
YouTube sucks.
I used to get Star Wars clips blocked a few years ago, I contested one, and they never get blocked anymore. Granted, they are only a few minutes in length, but worth a shot.
It’s supposed to prevent people from uploading TV shows or movies and stuff like that. I think you have to become a partner with them to get that removed.

I also hate it when people don’t use the Oxford comma, which woefully happens too many times.
Pedantic, pedantic and pedantic.
Pedantic, pedantic, and pedantic.
Nah, looks fine either way.

I didn’t partner with anyone. There was a link to contest it, I did so, and that ended the blocking.

I was taking about the 15 minute limit.

YouTube sucks.
It’s bizarre what those YouTube algorithms flag as copyrighted material and what they don’t.
I used to use some background chart music on my vlogs and I got several copyright warnings but I’ve seen other channels use audio and video from TV and movies (including recorded-in-the-cinema cam footage!!) with impunity.
You didn’t have the video monetised or anything did you, Duracell? If not, I think you were just unlucky. What show was it anyway?

Nope, everyone is always talking about me.

Thanks, Trump.

Nope, just globally blocked. At least it wasn’t deleted with me receiving a penalty in return, which is what happened to me once before.

Did your video contain copyrighted material?
I’d wager clips from an episode are copyrighted, yes.
There’s no guarantee that your video will stay up if it does, then.
Still, fair use should apply.
Only if they’re being fair.
Which YouTube never is, hence its suckitude.
Still, fair use should apply.
How exactly do you think your video qualifies under fair use?
Meanwhile there are entire bootlegged films on youtube that never get flagged at all. They’re not even reversed or distorted to avoid flagging.
Where were you in '77?
Still, fair use should apply.

Oy, I’m not getting into this downward spiral.
Meanwhile I can’t watch Ninja 3: The Domination on DVD or on YouTube. What is this world coming to?
Lol I’ve had videos of my covers of songs banned. I guess I’m just that good. My cover of immigrant song is banned in the USA only, and I think my cover of “That’s The Way” is banned too, despite the fact that I added an original electronic drum, symphony, guitar layers, played the vocal melody on a soft electric guitar while the original was just an acoustic and a singer. Like, really? Both led zepelin too. But neither contain even samples of the original recording.
Is tonic water supposed to taste like bitter Sprite?
Is tonic water supposed to taste like bitter Sprite?
The bitterness comes from quinine which was a malaria treatment which is why the fizzy water is called tonic water. During the years of White Mischief the flavour of gin and IT became desired irregardless of its medicinal properties.
