I think Yoda was making a reference to the midichlorians and the Gungans, not Han and Leia.

Similarly, in ANH when Luke says "I'm never coming back to this planet again." It's not because his aunt and uncle are dead, it's because he hates sand.

See, nobody thinks these weren't plot points in the OT, but you have to look at the dialogue from a different point of view.

i really fucking hate midichlorians.

edit: after reading further up. Oh don't get me started on having threepio be built by annie. Good grief. Why didn't yoda tell Luke he knows his pal, Chewbacca personally? Damn... Yeah maybe he should have told Luke, "Hey, tell chewbacca you must... Owe me five bucks he does."

Back on topic. I concur with the person who always assumed threepio didn't know what the princess looked like exactly. I took that way but also kind of think he was just trying to stay out of trouble and not let luke know about the princess or is just being classic threepio who as we saw in esb can be somewhat unreliable and useless unlike R2.

It's a cracker, isn't it? I've used Lil' Orphan Annie to refer to him before. My other favourite, used by someone around here, is Mannequin Skywalker, generally used for Hayden in AOTC and ROTS.
