If GL EVER releases the originals...what should the covers be?

I'm thinking the covers from the original VHS releases. Which is still the best cover for Empire ever...but I'd have to say SE's covers of Empire and Jedi are close seconds.
Which is the more foolish, the fool (the OT) or the fool who follows (the PT)?

original cover art...

Originals, but I won't whine if we get the faces.

EDIT: You know, as long as he releases the originals, it could be the Kathy Bates hot tub scene from About Schmidt on the cover for all I care.

Gentlemen, you can’t fight in here, this is the war room!

Dude, that's the only way Lucas could regain any street cred, if he put naked hot tub Kathy Bates on the cover. Maybe he could digitally put a Darth Vader mask on her.

ya i wouldnt complain either... but if i had a choice it would definatly be the original artwork!

I honestly wouldn't care if we were REALLY getting the OOT...but this is cool to think of!

The early 1990's cover art. Nothing else has beaten it. The faces were really cool, but too "new" looking.

EITHER SOMETHING REALLY COOL AND RETRO LOOKING WITH THE ORIGINAL MOVIE POSTER DESIGNS, OR I WAS THINKING SOMETHING NEW, MINIMALIST AND STYLISH, i'M THINKING BASIC BLACK OUTER COVER, NO WRITING OR PHOTO'S WITH JUST THE ORIGINAL TITLE LOGO'S EMBOSSED IN GOLD, THAT'D KICK ASS!

i wouldnt mind simple either...
similar to the definitive edition covers i guess..

I vote for something simple. The idea of black covers with just the title in gold were look cool. I would also vote for original art work. Either way, no matter what was on the cover I'd still buy it.

I think it would be something retro, you know? With a late 70s early 80s look... Because if GL ever release the original trilogy, he would have to promote it as the "ORIGINAL trilogy", you see? With that "old, classic 70s movie" feeling about it...
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

that right there is the 10th anniversary poster for Star Wars...
Lucas said he wanted a poster that reminded him of the cirus/carnival advertisements he remember as a child..
he said that it was his favorite poster of all...

i have this exact poster framed next to my bed...

Yes, very nice... It should look like that, but not so "festive". It should be a little bit more 70s.

That poster came out before the 10th anniversary. I distinctly remember seeing it in a poster store in 1978.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

I have many versions of the trilogy on VHS with totally different covers. Maybe it's a UK thing!

Being the "purist" that I am, I would love to have them on DVD with their original VHS/Betamax covers.

Ultimately I'm just really hating both the new covers for the S2004E DVDS as well as the ones for the Prequels...too minimal. I still love the early 90's ones, the ones that are most common to find on VHS...

Then again, any remember the covers from those Super Star Wars games for SNES? Those were nice covers (Empire especially!).

ya the covers for the 2004 editions are just shiat...
i agree with Dusku that those games did have some pretty sweet covers...

i also think ESB has a very cool cover..

That site doesn't allow hotlinking... post the URL itself. It worked for me.

Gentlemen, you can’t fight in here, this is the war room!

Nope... still not doing it. I can right-click and obtain the URL from the properties tab and view them from there, but I guess linking them just won't work.

Those were great games btw.
