Ideas Thread: Harry Potter Edit Megathread

This is the place to share any and all ideas for Harry Potter fanedits that aren’t already attached to a specific edit in development (although those are welcome too). Think of it as the Harry Potter “Radical Redux Thread”.

For starters, I’d like to suggest making the old Flitwick from the Columbus films into a separate character. To establish this, young Flitwick could be added to this shot. Since Filius is Latin for son, it seems only right to make this older teacher Filius Flitwick’s father Pater Flitwick, Pater being Latin for father.

While I’m not doing any edits I think that would be cool to make it look like the Dursley’s are under Voldemort’s control and that his death causes them to forget all about Harry.

Dursleys under the Imperius Curse? I guess that would explain their treatment of Harry. The only other theory out there is that him being a horcrux drove them insane, which doesn’t really add up given his friends were fine.

So my idea/theory stands.

The reason behind Vernon’s name is brilliant.

While it does explain why they took in Harry in the first place despite hating him, the bond of blood charm doesn’t explain why they straight-up abusive with him.

I think he meant that that was the reason why they didn’t hurt him physically but not the other reason
