Supreme Leader Snoke: Origins

Hi there, I’m TulakHord(not my real name…)and this is my first post on Original Trilogy. I’ll be talking about the possible origins of the new character in SW TFA called “Supreme Leader Snoke”. So let’s get started.

So, my theory is that Snoke is an ancient Sith, and that he is actually dead in the time of TFA(30 BBY). Now, my idead is that he’s actually speaking to Kylo Ren by a holocron, which is transmitted through a hologram, thus explaining why Snoke appears so big. He appears to have a humanoid form, and he has many scars over his head, and of course he’s obviously very old. Now, my theory would explain why he appears to be so old, and as well explains his scars, for whom I think he gain from numerous battles with others(both Sith and Jedi). As, I presume, a powerful Sith, he had lived for many years, but eventually died, and before he died, he made a holocron of his. Now, that probably happened centuries before Battle of Yavin, so that holocron must’ve been lost, until it was found by Darth Sidious, and when Sidious died(a canonical death), Kylo Ren found it several decades later, and when he discovered it, he was corrupted by the dark side of Snoke’s teachings. Snoke ordered him to found the “Knights of Ren”, and my theory is that Snoke isn’t actually his real name, rather the “Ren” or “Darth Ren” as it once was.

So, that’s my theory, thanks for the read(if you did) and maybe reply if you wish.

I thought Holocrons stored recordings and other information. Snoke clearly isn’t a recording since he’s talking about real time events in TFA to both Kylo Ren and Hux.

I thought it was common knowledge that we’re all you.

I think Snoke is either this guy (although I don’t watch the Rebels show, so maybe it’s completely impossible, dunno) or Darth Plagueis (using mainly the OST as evidence).

However, since I am not a big fan of the character so far (the name, the design, the role,…) I would love it if Snoke was in fact an illusion created by someone to manipulate the First Order to do the dirty work. There are already rumours that Benicio Del Torro could be playing a Thrawn-like character, so maybe he could be the one pulling the strings? It is very unlikely they would go this route, but it would make for a great twist while fixing one of TFA’s biggest drawbacks.

If Snoke was Leia, it would on one hand make he presence in ST at least meaningful as of the moement she is completely useless. On the other hand it would be stupid. I want something new. I mean then should they just make Rey Luke’s daughter, Finn Lando’s son and Poe Wedge’s son.

Since that big reveal moment in ESB Star Wars became a family saga and some people thought that was a mistake.

I personally think having the saga Skywalker centred isn’t that bad but Finn being Lando’s son would not only be as silly as Threepio being Luke’s brother but it would also be rather insulting to all the people of African origin who watch the films.

Well technically 3PO is Luke’s brother.

Why would it be insulting?

It would be awesome if Snoke is the being who corrupted the first Sith. Nobody ever said that evil began with the Sith.

That’s your prequel uncle talking.

So you don’t think that in the whole of a galaxy where humans are present the only prominent figures of colour are directly connected to the Skywalker/Solo/Amidala family is a bit demeaning and ridiculous even from the level of coincidence we come to expect in these movies?
Mace Windu : Principle of Luke’s dad’s High School
Pananka : Bodyguard of Luke’s mum.
Lando : Previous owner of Leia’s boyfriend’s car and sometimes buddy.
So now we have Finn. He has an ethical and moral crisis on the planet invaded by Luke’s nephew, on a search for a map to Luke, bumps into Han in the process of stealing his old car from it’s current owner and… he’s Lando’s son?
He is escapes his indoctrination and lands right next to his dad’s old car?
In a galaxy?
That’s PT level weird that’s like expecting Ronald McDonald to know Elizabeth I because the both have red hair.

Snoke is Finn’s dad CONFIRMED!

That’s a twist I wasn’t expecting.

Leia is probably a Trans-Form-Bot.

Tomorrow night, my guest will be America’s premiere sci-fi director, Kyle Buggins, whose new film has become, in just a few short weeks, the highest-grossing film ever made. Trans-Form-Bots, about transsexual robots that can switch their sexual identities at will, and switch back also, or not be robots at all either even.

Don’t think anyone’s actually expecting Finn to be Lando’s son. That’d not be good at all.

Another thought is that Snoke is actually Maz Kanata.
She confesses to knowing the Force but not being a Jedi.
Sets Rey on her path to finding Luke.
She could be a sort of dark version of Yoda.
The old small figure who is really powerful and wise but also a bit wicked.

But then we could get a spin off sitcom called Calrissian and Son.

That guy got killed dead in the season 1 finale. Killed real dead.

OK, so Plagueis it is. Apparentely when Andy Serkis was asked why Snoke needed to be CGI, he said it was because they needed him to have a hollow face. Now we know the character design was only finished quite late in the production, but the hole in his face was firmly set. So it is probably really important for the story. Perhaps Plagueis has been this deformed since his apprentice killed him in his sleep by breaking his face…

I still think Snoke is Boba Fett. I hope episode VIII after the title crawl and pan starts with a flashback showing a hand reaching out of the sand (similar to when the Shreder’s hand reaches out of the garbage dump pile in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Secret of the Ooze) and a shadowy unidentifiable figure starts to climb out. Then the camera pans and we see it is Boba Fett in his armor and he swears revenge on Han Solo and Luke Skywalker. He then takes his helmet off and he looks like Snoke because the Sarlacc messed his face up and the music cue from the I am your father scene plays. I don’t think it could get any better than that.

Yeah, that would be amazing. Now they HAVE to film it like that!
