This deepfake replacement of Leia from the finale of Rogue One is quite impressive, and might be of interest to fan editors.
This technique presumably might also be viable for Tarkin.

Still looks very artificial.
The best part in the video is the interim step at 0:43, that looks really great and natural.
I’m not sure that’s the original. There’s a better example here https://youtu.be/RiBqZoVe92U
I really wanna try this deeplab program but you need to render for far too long. It’s really impressive what you can do on home computers now though. I’m thinking of adding it to my edit.

I’m really hoping someone can eventually tackle deepfaking Ewan over Alec in an edit of the OT.
Maybe some day.
I’m hoping someone will do Cushing in ROTS

Good call. That ought to be very achievable, and even an imperfect deepfake would be a big improvement.
That plus making the Death Star prototype (?) have its dish along the equator, matching the stolen plans, would be great to see.
I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently.

I never had any problem with the Cushing lookalike they cast, but my goodness… I would straight up marry anyone who could do that to the Death Star! It’s something I’ve wanted for years!
