Idea: Radically altering the Prequel Trilogy storyline one film at a time — Page 2

It's pretty much a proposal for an edit (an ambitious edit with lots of almost impossible face mapping but who knows what might be possible in a few years time?).

Much of the story and the footage remains as in the theatrical versions but re-shuffled.

See when I originally thought of this I realised that the hardest thing to do with the story was leave Anakin in.  Thats why I suggested changing it to Obi Wan and Anakin.

However, if it was left as Qui Gon and Anakin, and Dooku was the bad guy in the background I think the story would work well without needing too much ambitious editing at all (like refilming, though some voices might need to be rerecorded).

The biggest problem is it would be a Prequel story without Anakin Skywalker at all and that does seem a little wrong somehow.

It would also strip the more interesting and unusual aspects of your proposal from the concept.

Keep dreaming and hopefully technology and talent will catch up with your imagination.

I am currently in the process of my edits of the prequels and stumbled on this excellent post. I love your story ideas for episode I. Did anything come of it? I realise I’m a little late to this party but I’m very intrigued.

Ok, even though it would be very difficult, I think it’s possible with our current technology to substitute Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan with Obi-Wan and Anakin using deepfake programs (I made this quick attempt to showcase the idea)

This was a pipe dream in 2011, but in 2020 this might actually be feasible. It would be an assload of work, but it’s absolutely doable.

If Maul and Grievous are one in this version like JXeditor’s Prequel Trilogy, then who’s going to fill in Maul’s role in the Siege of Mandalore? Ventress, Savage Opress, Cad Bane, or some other enemy?

I don’t think the Clone Wars show would exist in this theoretical continuity.

Having read through these nine-year-old ideas… they’re amazing! The only concern I’d have is a lack of screentime, as cutting all of Tatooine would really mess with the movie’s pacing. One idea I have is to start with an extended prologue of Obi-Wan (deepfaked Qui-Gon) finding young Anakin on Tatooine, ending with Maul’s return before a time jump of 8 years later. The only issue is you’d need to find a reason for Jar Jar and Padme being there. Maybe just deepfake them too, cause why not!

If Maul and Grievous are one…that means he’s a Dathomir/Kaleesh hybrid.

“Assload of work” is what stops me from trying to be a fan editor lol

Seriously though someone should take up this idea

Everything after Empire Strikes Back is shit.
