Idea: Help with Starting an a.b.dvd.fanedit group

Hey people,

I know that getting the fanedits have been a problem in the past at least with newsgroups, nobody likes using a.b.dvd. So I did some looking and have somewhat figured out what is need to make a new newsgroup at least in the ‘alt’ part. The main thing that needs to be done is some major discussion in different newsgroups about, in our case, fanedits having their own group. So…

If we really want a newgroup just for fanedits, we need to start topics in different newgroups about this. When the ‘Gods’ of newsgroups look at what is worth making into its own group they look at numbers! They want to see around 900 posts made in 3 months time or about 10 posts per day average over 3 months time, about this subject. So we need to start working at this. I know this seems like alot but we can do it if we really want this, and if we post 900 meaningful posts in a month well that would make the 900 in 3 months if averaged with the last 2 months.

I have no problem making up the documents and supplying the newgroup ‘Gods’ with the information they want but I need everyones help to get the posts that we need.

There are other ways to start groups but this is the best most professional way to go about it.

Any thoughts our input?

I'd like to help out if I can, though I really don't know what I could do exactly. But seeing as BitTorrent is as slow as a Hearse for me, despite my 3mb line, I think that a specific Newsgroup for all releases from this site is a great idea. Plus, seeing as a lot of us have Newsgroup access it means we can get the discs and distribute them a lot quicker to those who need them.

I all you have to do to help is make a post to a group you use, stating the idea about a new group for dvd fanedits.

Just a thought but an alternative is to "adopt" a smaller alt.binaries newsgroup that all the free and pay ISP's can get............

Didn't another thread say that the *.fanedit group was already created?

I love your sig, mebejedi. it made me lol a long time.

And I hope Kevin Smith doesn't mind if anyone starts using his newsgroup.

My sig changes from time to time, as I run across precious nuggets. I particularly like these.

(No one has asked me about the ewok line though. )

I also found a.b.dvd5 which does not get many postes, I like it over the a.b.m.kevin-smith because it just in states dvd5 not specific movies.

So poll time maybe?
