This film is actually a guilty pleasure of mine and I love some of the songs, this film was a part of my childhood.

I really hope someone can buy this, scan it and restore it.

This is a Filmation movie and the original masters (and sound masters too) of most of their library were destroyed by Hallmark when they got the rights to Filmation’s library, keeping only international distribution masters in PAL which were sped up.

Plus, the Fox DVD sloppily censored some of the violence which was in the VHS version.

And, an HD remaster is impossible now that the original 35mm film elements are lost.

This is our closest chance of ever getting an HD remaster of this film.

And I’ve loved every pixel of it.

ive considered buying this print and scanning it, but that would require a large amount of patience, dedication, and most importantly money. i dont think anyone’s particularly itching to see this movie in hd so i dont think donation would be a part of the deal, it feels a little frivolous to do, but then again ive gotten personal scans of films only im interested in. i don’t think i’d like to own so much film i can’t project. can’t restore it either.

however, i have recently gotten the theatrical trailer on 35mm and had it scanned, which i will be releasing on youtube when i get the raw files.

p.s. i personally believe the “hallmark destroyed everything” rumor to be bull. im not gonna go into details cause i feel it would distract from the topic here but all i can say is it takes someone really dedicated to researching filmation to sort out the truths and the lies, and i happen to be that someone. i can say that the “they used 16mm broadcast prints” quip in the forum post the rumor originated from is definitely wrong.

If you get the full 35mm print, I don’t think a full 4K scan would do wonders to this film, as the animation is pretty low-budget (as is expected from Filmation), even though it’s a gigantic leap from their typical fare.
I think 1080p would suffice.

I was only hoping for at least a LaserDisc rip to surface but a full 35mm print is like a gift from heaven.
Which was I was really hoping for someone to scan it in HD.
All the seeds in torrent sites are down and the YouTube versions are either poor VHS rips or the aforementioned Fox DVD.

And I’ve loved every pixel of it.
