Idea: Clint Eastwood movies - audio preservation

Since pretty much almost all of the classic Clint Eastwood movies (particularly the ones from Warner Bros. mostly) seem to have alterations to their audio tracks, I decided to start this thread to list those movies and possibly get laserdisc versions of the original audio tracks.

One of the most notorious examples are the Dirty Harry movies, their 5.1 remixes saw extremely severe sound effects replacement and there hasn’t been a re-release of the original mono tracks since the 1998 DVD releases.

I was thinking of getting the vhs tapes to sync Clint’s ape movies but then I saw the prices :p
For LD I
Don’t think a pcm track is available in mono just a stereo mix so would have to use analog Ld

Heartbreak ridge and gauntlet were stereo but I can tell they were tinkered with for the 5.1

From what it seems Gauntlet didn’t seem that tampered with cause I can tell all of the gunfire and other noises were period appropriate, though I could be wrong with some of it

I’m not sure but I don’t think there is the original mono on any early DVD of Dirty Harry.
