Idea: CLONE WARS FAN EDIT(s) floating ideas...

whos been keeping up to date with the series? got a new mac with final cut so im itching to start this edit. there have already been several threads on this already, i would just like to start one for this project in particular.

id like to combine episodes together to form a film, the only tricky thing is having a B storyline, and a climax that links these, and i guess a plot. so all the fundamentals of a film…

the first half of the film, with the hutt story removed would work for me, with perhaps the malevolance storyline added as a main plot. i would perhaps like to make an introduction of grevious, perhaps from the kit fisto episode.

any suggestions welcome! alternative ideas for combining episodes, and music replacements.

if i were to put something together, could someone help me with the crawl?

way ahead of you on the crawl, but thanks for the link. im going to attempt a proto-edit, so ill make it and figure if it works. ill post up what ive done so far and pop it up on youtube (wait bout 30mins)

which episodes do you think may work darknikos? for this i am combining the malevolence story arc with the christophis story. i may slice in a padme story too if possible.

Is it just me or does episode 16 seem like a good lead in to the events that kick off the film?

Other than that i'd say you kinda need a decent B story to cut to every so often.

ok it took longer than 30mins.:P its the opening crawl and the pan down, probably the most tricky things in the whole edit! if you have ideas for a better crawl then let me know, this will just be a demo edit for now, ill keep jamming chunks up on youtube.

i think the movie was a mix of episodes, so im guessing they probably just jumbled the series up somewhat.

There is an "i" out of place in "General Grievous."  I hope that won't be hard for you to fix.

im making a rough demo film, which will be dogged with errors that we can hopefully decide on what plot elements work.

looking good...But wouldn't the titl imply a setting AFTER the Malevolence saga? - ala The Empire strikes back / Shadows of the Empire...

i guess so, it just sounded really cool. as i said earlier, its all open to change at the moment. the thing i liked about the title was it sounded quite punchy and in line with the OT titles. ill finish the film then i guess we can figure a new one!:)

not to sure about colour correction, it appears to have a very similar visual atmosphere to ep III. im not that skilled at the film editting beyond chopping and placing.:P

this would be more about, 'is it possible to make a watchable film from this'

if anyone hasnt watched the series its well worth it! i think someone is uploading the episodes to youtube as they are shown.

im currently working off the cartoon network episodes that ive been getting. when they eventually emerge on a higher quality format i will recut it. (assuming its worth recutting though!)

ok, we have seen the abomination of the movie, and all 22 episodes (if not you can find them on youtube)

im unsure whether to base it around the malevolence trilogy, and considering baybe making 3 slightly shorter films, like maybe 1.30 each

its all up in the air! when my uni workload diminishes i will make some more mockups using the current CN broadcasts.

any ideas?

If a CLONE WARS edit is in order, and a replacement for the Hutt plot is the concept, I agree that the best way to go is with the Malevolence triliogy and the fan-favorite "Layer of General Grievous" episode.

I see the Malevolence as a starship version of the Death Star, which in turn harkens back to classic Star Wars.  And what's best about the new Star Wars is the connections to the old Star Wars.

i agree to trimming ashoka banter for sure, and especially any padawan references. I was thinking of maybe portraying her as Luminaras padawan, who sends ashoka to anakin for experience.

the hutt elements were daft especially with Emo the Hutt. I really wish they expanded on grevious backstory a bit more, we see the statues of his former fleshy self, but nothing more annoyingly. The malevolence trilogy is really cool, but i dont like how there are three very seperate stories within it. ideally the route to a good film would be mixing up the plot episodes of the multiple episodes, for instance,

enstead of plo kloon being shot down by malevolence, it would be yoda, and then the first episode would play out. (except i have no intension of using the first episode.:P)

Things were starting to get interesting there, but then they just had to bring Ziro back into the mix :(

yeahh, ziro just had to crap all over it. i like how the seperatists didnt think to hire him to assassinate palpatine. though the episode could make an alternative prologue to ROTS. is it me, or does asoka look slightly older in the trailer for the next series? im kind of hoping she will be an adult in the live action series.
