Ohh yeah I know who that is. He was a primary candidate for the democrats, he was an ex-military or something. I didn't know about this "shouting" incident.

Needless to say it quickly became a favorite sound byte for Conservative humorists everywhere. And even some liberals who realized how bad Dean was for their image.

Not ex-military, that was another candidate (Robert Clark? I don't think the name is correct, but he was formerly the general in charge of NATO's military forces).

Dean was extremely anti-war and raised a lot of money through online grassroots campaigning. In fact, people were amazed he did as well as he did.

He was quite groundbreaking with his online efforts. He used one site (meetup.com) that arranges for meetings of likeminded individuals who otherwise don't know each other within a specific geographic region to allow them to come together to further promote his campaign. His website was very well done. Better than any other candidate's site I've ever seen.

Very incredible stuff.

And then he blew it with something stupid.

Funny how the liberals blasted him for being such an idiot and throwing it all away and then they go and make him the chair of the DNC.

Clark was the retired general.

I knew Clark was the last name, wasn't sure about the first name though.

The liberal's motives for making Dean the party chairman are purely because they want to draw on his techniques in campaigning and money-gathering.

A chimpaneze could have done the same with a website, and they'd make it the DNC.

Ok I've just seen this Howard Dean video... What's the big deal with it, I mean, ok he was a little bit excited and stuff but it's not that weird...

Well, I don't know about Brazil, but our politicians are seldom excited or exciting. Consider this: In 2000, Al Gore was the exciting half of the Gore/Lieberman democratic ticket. Its like saying that paint drying is more exciting that grass growing.

Its not normal and the outburst caused a certain backlash.
Could this man, that just make this screeching sound, be taken seriously by the people, by media or by the rest of the world?

My friend has a different theory entirely. By making someone as enormously left leaning as Dean the chairman, he makes Hillary Clinton look centrist by comparison which could expand her appeal beyond party lines for the 2008 election. He thinks they're gunning for her to be the next Dem candidate.

I would agree with your friend; besides, it would allow Hillary the chance to be President for four terms.

His grand theory, and this one may be reaching a bit, is that the next election will be the big "Minority Bonanza"... Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama vs. Condoleeza Rice and a Veep to be named later.

If the republicans want to keep the office, they should support Rudolph Giuliani as president candidate.

That's who he was saying. He said Condy with Giuliani as Veep. He doesn't think the Republicans will put outright support for Giuliani as prez because of his family history.
