IMPORTANT- Get the word out about the OT on NPR on 5/19/05

Tomorrow on NPR's afternoon show 'Talk of the Nation' they'll be talking about Star Wars and what fans will be doing after 'its over'. This could be a great chance to get some exposure for this website. I'm not sure who their guests are but quite often they'll get a 'fan spokesperson' type of guest. I'm not sure who speaks for the OT.Com exactly, but please get the word around.

Also anyone who wants to call or email the show, you can do so at totn@npr.org or by phone:

"You can participate by calling (800) 989-8255. A few tips:

· If you're in a car and you want to call in, pulling over will allow a connection that's likely to be of higher audio quality.

· Be prepared to turn off your radio as soon as the screener answers the phone.

· Tell us a story. The best callers are people who speak from experience; the worst callers are those who just want to express an opinion."

I've emailed the show and briefly mentioned the plight of the OT, as well as giving props to OT.Com.

Anyone else done this yet? Call them, email them... let the NPR listeners know what's going on.

BTW, in my market the show has just begun and the SW segment should begin within the hour. Their guests will be:

Quote

Nicholas Johnson, Star Wars fan; waited in line for more than 30 days to see Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith

Amy Sturgis, professor of interdisciplinary studies at the Belmont University; writes about the Star Wars phenomenon; teaches a course on Lord of the Rings

John Hudgens, amateur Star Wars film maker
