I think Ulic Qel-Droma's character was the EU's version of Anakin

Since the old EU wasn’t allowed to touch the Prequels-era and Anakin before the Prequels were made, I think Ulic Qel-Droma’s character was the EU’s version of Anakin, I think Ulic’s character was like their wink “see, thats how We would have done it”

Maybe. I got the same impression from the lousy Legacy era. The Legacy of the Force novels = the PT, the Legacy comics = the OT. The rehash par excellence – at least prior to Jar Jar Abrams.

“The Anarchists are right in everything; in the negation of the existing order and in the assertion that, without Authority there could not be worse violence than that of Authority under existing conditions. They are mistaken only in thinking that anarchy can be instituted by a violent revolution… There can be only one permanent revolution — a moral one: the regeneration of the inner man. How is this revolution to take place? Nobody knows how it will take place in humanity, but every man feels it clearly in himself. And yet in our world everybody thinks of changing humanity, and nobody thinks of changing himself.”

People do have a hard time coming up with compelling and unique ways to do the Jedi turns to the dark side story. Even within the context of the time, it was a deliberate comparison between Luke in Dark Empire and Ulic Qel Droma.
It’s too frequent. It happened way too much and led to people thinking that all the Jedi were screwups. Kylo Ren in the sequels was just another example that was set before by Jacen Solo (another big mistake.)

Exar Kun being a Sith using a blue lightsaber is very similar to how Anakin after falling to the dark side in Episode 3 used his blue lightsaber to destroy the Jedi Darth Maul lightsaber was inspired in Exar Kun lightsaber so there is a possibility that Lucas took the character of Ulic Qel Droma as a base or inspiration for Anakin Skywalker in the Prequels

The same here. A few other characters and plot points taken from, or maybe based on, the early EU as well.

“In the future it will become even easier for old negatives to become lost and be “replaced” by new altered negatives. This would be a great loss to our society. Our cultural history must not be allowed to be rewritten.” - George Lucas
