SW Books Question

****Possible Spoilers?****

I'm currently reading the book Onslaught in the NJO series (I tried reading Vector Prime but it blows cheese). It mentions that the emperor came back for a time, and that Luke turned to the dark side for a brief period. Anyone know which book(s) this happened in?

That would be Dark Empire, a comic book mini-series by Dark Horse comics.

You should be able to find a TPB in any bookstore.

Hey, Jedisage, the first part of Vector Prime isn't all that great, but the ending is completely worth it.

Overall, the NJO is pretty good. Traitor and the Enemy Lines books were my favorites. The last five or so are all excellent. I would advise you to read "Tatooine Ghost" by Troy Denning sometime before finishing "The Unifying Force", because the two tie-in to each other and make the end of the NJO worth it.

Uh, the Zahn novels had a clone of the Emperor. And I seem to recall Luke shifted to the dark side in those, though I haven't read those books since the early 1990's.

Asha, there were no Emperor clones in Zahn's novels. TheSessler is correct in saying it was Dark Empire. THere's also a radio drama version I've been trying to hunt down.

As for Vector Prime, it wasn't bad. I'm up to Balance Point in the New Jedi Order, but I took a break from Star wars novels(considering I made it to Hero's trail when it was released, it's a pretty long break). Personally though, I think Stackpole's books added so much to the series that they're my favorite of the five I've read fully. The parts with Elegos Akala gave much depth to the Vong, and I'd love to recreate the Ithor duel in a fanfilm.

More specifically, the first trilogy had a Jedi clone (which was almost Obi-wan. )

Technically, two Jedi clones.

Just no Emperor clones. I'm also well aware that it was supposed to be Kenobi. Speaking of which, what was the reasoning of Ben on why he couldn't appear to Luke anymore? I remember him saying that, but it's been so long I forgot why.

Thank you all for the info. So far I think Onslaught is quite good, and I'll be looking forward to catching up on NJO in it's entirety.

It was something about him being too far into the reaches of the force.

LOL....I can't believe I forgot about Luuke. It's my favorite part, but it was so short.

My bad. I pretty much stopped following the expanded universe stories when the emperor's clone was introduced. I thought that was fairly early in the expanded universe offerings, but I guess it wasn't.
