Idea: How hard it would be to create "no sound in space" edits of The Expanse episodes?

The Expanse is the best science fiction series right now. I absolutely love the realistic nature of spaceflight and space combat in this series. If there is one show where “no sound in space” could work, it is The Expanse.

At least, that’s what I thought. The producers apparently tried it and they didn’t like it.

For those members savvy in sound editing, how much of an effort would it take to edit out the sound effects (but not the music) from those torpedo launches, PDC bursts and high G maneuvres? I might get into sound editing just to do this.

It would be very difficult, honestly. Once the sound mix is done, it’s very hard, if not impossible, to separate the mixed elements. If we had a complete score soundtrack release, it might be doable, but I don’t think The Expanse has such a release to work from.
