I'm curious to know why the creator of the Chu Shogi file I'm using decided to portray the phoenix as an elephant head and the drunk elephant as a circle with a sword in its centre.
Well, that is certainly a fair question. Mine mostly just uses letters and the moves shown on the pieces. You might like that file better.

I wonder if you want to take that move back ;)
Hmm...let me think about that, actually. I might launch an offensive against your lion instead, but perhaps that would be a foolish idea. What do you think? Will I stand a chance if I continue without my lion?
Obviously neither of us is effective with our Lions at present, but to give you an idea of his value, look again at the wiki article:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chu_shogi#Piece_values
The Lion is worth 20 points while the Free King, the second most powerful piece and equivalent to the Queen in chess, is worth 12. I think if you lose your Lion, I'll probably tear you to pieces. I suggest you work out some other strategy. The Lion basically has the power to move like a king twice with a jumping ability, so I doubt you could corner it. It's a tough piece to track and I could cause a lot of devastation.
I guess you're right. I don't want my defenses to be demolished so early in the game.

Please note, I am not taking the pawn.
