What are books that you personally would like to make a film adaptation out of.

The books I would love to make are:
Mort, by Terry Pratchett.
Enders Game and/or Enders Shadow, by Orson Scott Card.
Rainbow Six, by Tom Clancy.
and Mother Night, by Kurt Vonnegut.

I should add that, If I could find a decent translation of Beowulf, It is also a movie I would be interested in making.

And I should add, that I would like to do a Live Action version of Mort, that doesn't cut half the plot out. ;-)

The Seamus Heaney version isn't too bad.

It would be better if you learned Anglo-Saxon(Old English) and did the entire film in Anglo-Saxon with Modern English subtitles, "Passion of the Christ" style

I'm waiting for Beowulf and Grendel, it should be good.

Fahrenheit: 451 is another one that I would be interested in.

Seconded, as an HBO miniseries.

Actually, it's be nice if it was more of an actual miniSERIES, with seven seasons (one for each book) with a few episodes each, like 3 or 4 for Gunslinger, 5 or 6 for Drawing, 7 or 8 for Waste Lands, 9 for Wizard and Glass, 10 for Wolves, 6 or 7 for Susannah, and 9 or 10 for Tower (based on the lengths of the books).

I'd also like to see Chuck Palahniuk's SURVIVOR as a movie with Kevin Spacey as Tender Branson and Jason Lee as the agent.

Please, anything but the Dark Tower books, please! The only ones that didn't suck were #s 1 and 4. The rest sucked, especially 5-7

my thoughts exactly. this way they can take their time with the story without feeling restrained by time limits.

"A Song of Ice and Fire" by George R.R. Martin

but more like a TV show with each book being one season, much more detailed than if it were adapted to the big screen.

Wow! GOOD answer!
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

"Mein Kampf", a computer-animated musical adaptation. Just kidding.

A local book I belive not a single one of you heard of, called "O Homem que Matou Getúlio Vargas" wrote by Jô Soares, about a extremely bad lucked and clumsy anarchist from the eastern europe, which was born with one extra finger in his hands, and was trainned in a secret assassin school during the late 1800s early 1900s. He gets involved in every single violent moment in history but in a funny way, like almost starting WW1 (he missed the shot that Gavrillo Princip did in Franz Ferdinand), being part of the Chicago mafia in the 30s, and eventually heading to Brazil, where he tries several times to kill our then-president Getúlio Vargas, which was a distant relative of him. It's like what "Forrest Gump" would be if wrote as a comedy by Chuck Palahniuk. The author (Jô Soares) recievd several proposals of turning his book into a movie, to which he declined.

Well, while on the subject of politcially themed books, a movie of "How to Talk to a Liberal (But only if you Must)" would be friggn' hilarious.

Chaltab, I'm quite sure this is not a fiction book, which would be hard to adapt to a feature film, unless you mean as a documentary?

Anyway, I'd like to see you putting into practice the teachings of such book (who's the author?) with me. If you want to try out what you've learned in this book with someone, I volunteer. As long as you don't ask me to shut up and to cut off my microphone...

The Eragon books would make good movies if they were done right.

Who here wouldn't want to see a movie based on CRISIS ON INFINTE EARTHS?

Technically, it was first a graphic novel, but there IS a text novel format for it.

Fahrenheit 451 *was* made into a movie.

Maybe I should clarify. I would like to see a GOOD adaptation of F 451.

Yeah, only if it has a deleted scene with a threesome between Bill O'Reilly, Ann Coulter, and Sean Hannity!
