Hey anyone know how to get Simcity 3000 to work on windows 7 64 bit?

I thought I would ask here since a lot of people seem to be techinicly minded.

Any way the only working computer I have now(Since my old Packard Bell finally died)is a windows 7 64 bit machine and it runs like a dream for everything i want it to do except one thing.  I can't seem to install my favorite version of Simcity on it.

I put my Simcity 3000 disc in the drive,the auto play menu comes up,I tell it to install and then nothing happens.  Everything just stops and my computer doesn't do a thing after that.

If you can tell me why this is happening or if there is a work around for it I would be grateful,thanks.

Try VirtualBox. It allows you to run different versions of Windows on your current one, so you should be able to run whatever version you need in order to play Simcity 3000.

I have never heard of that so this is a big help.  I will have to see if I can use it to get my old Wing Commander games working too.

Just point a shrink ray gun at it or threaten to eat it's children, it worked with my next door neighbours.

Well I guess it's worth a shot. That's how I got Windows Vista to work.
