Heralds (Heralds of Zildrog book)

I was given this book once on Star Wars and mythology and the book goes on and on about the various mythological hero journey tidbits that George Lucas tried to use for Star Wars, and it listed the droids C-3P0 and R2 as the “heralds” who usually present the hero in question with the calling to an adventure. The book then goes to the Phantom Menace and it lists Padme as the herald who provokes Anakin’s journey from Tatioone to Coruscant and the path of Jedi training and darkness. I was like “How the hell is Padme a herald?” If anything I thought the continuity ridden Qui-Gon Jinn was the herald, seeing as how he was the one who set Anakin free and dragged him to Coruscant to fulfill that damned prophecy.

What do you all think?

I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an Obi-Wan to go.

Red heads ROCK. Blondes do not rock. Nuff said.

George Lucas said in the commentary for TPM that in Ep. 4 the story was told through the eyes of the two droids. Those two doirds would have us meet Luke, who would introduce us to Obi-Wan, and so on. In TPM it is seen through the eyes of the two Jedi. The Jedi intoduce us to Jar Jar, who take us to Theed to meet the Queen, and so on. This just from what Lucas has said in various commentaries for the movies.

I think that if anyone could be called heralds in TPM it would be Qui-Gonn and Obi-Wan.

On this same subject: don't you think that the whole Star Wars saga, the 100+ years story of an entire universe, happen acroess only a few people? I mean, basically the Skywalker family, and the droids. The whole history of that universe happened for the eyes of r2 and 3po!
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

Actually the Skywalkers' story only covers about 30 or so years (in the movies) and about 55 with the Novels.
