Help: looking for... Newbie looking for a cleaned up GOUT preservation?

Hi guys,

I apologize in advance if this is a dumb question, but I’m simply looking for a nicely cleaned up version of the GOUT trilogy that I can use to splice into the SE trilogy and make my own super trilogy.

I checked out the project index which listed such things as “**The Lucasfilm Pwnage Edition” and "**Ocpmovie’s “Classic Editions” but

1. I don’t know if these are the kinds of things which are available for free somewhere online

and

2. I don’t know exactly what kinds of changes they’ve made to the original film (if any).

Could someone tell me the names of some nicely restored GOUTs out there? Maybe PM me some links or something to help me search?

To clean-up the GOUT you can use the G-FORCE scripts that work in Avisynth and make the transfers far more tolerable. You have to make some small changes for PAL, and I can help you with that if you're using the PAL versions. This will give you better results than any cleaned GOUT you may be able to download because you're working with a raw un-encoded, un-resized source to splice with.

I've been working on doing a GOUT/SE hybrid script (in Avisynth), which is available at my thread for ANH so far. It only works with the PAL version since I don't have the NTSC discs, but for the most part it would be relatively simple to convert.

Thanks for this info. I'm not sure if I'm quite at the level to run scripts or convert things from PAL to NTSC, seeing as how I'm not really sure what scripts even are. The extent of my editing thus far has been very crude indeed, basically using DVD Shrink to put new scenes where old ones were. Oh, and I used some program to convert the GOUT into anamorphic widescreen but that's about it.

Of course I will keep this info in mind once I learn a little bit more.

what doubleko said. myspleen is a torrent site, download the dark jedi v3 theatrical editions, they are really good.

another good one to try out is Harmy despecialized HD version of Empire Strikes Back (he aint done the whole trilogy yet). That one is fantastic. You should be able to pm him for the info on how to get it.
