Help Wanted: 'Shadows of the Empire' N64 Game Trailer — Page 2

By the way. I found some of the official things said in the trailer. They came from "The Secrets of Shadows of the Empire" by Mark Cotta Voz

When a renegade hero became a friend in desperate need
and a dark villain faced his greatest challenge... When the
Empire turned more and more to the forces of the under-
world...the underworld moved in to crush the Empire and
the Rebellion in a single stroke...After The Epire Strikes
Back and before Return of the Jedi, there was a time when he-
roes and villains alike lived in the Shadows of the Empire.

By the way, I'll try to have the trailer up soon, the guy's having a hard time sending it via yousendit.

Is there a limit of 12 downloads? I was downloading the file when I accidentally hit the cancel button. Now I can't seem to download it.

You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

No, there isn't a 12 download limit. It's just that if you don't have a premium account, you can only download one thing per hour, for some reason. Just try it again later. On rapidshare there isn't a limit, they keep it there forever unless its not downloaded for a 30 day period. Now, yousendit.com does ave a download limit.

Cool trailer. The quality isnt the greatest and the audio is quite fuzzy but its still watchable if you want to.

On to Ell the Ewok's remarks. Yeah, the quality's not the greatest, but given the fact that it is virtually impossible to find for the most part, I'll take what I get. Would have been nice to have a better one, and you would think the time being 96' that the recording would be better, but sadly it wasn't. I might expect that quality for the most holiday special copies to be of that quality, or those old Kenner commercials, with those old 78' VCR's, but not a 96' recording.

I'm sure we could 'make one' out of DVD footage and use this audio.

I was about to say the same thing, although this trailer is pretty useless all around anyway.

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

Yeah, we could give it the old ocpmovie treatment! I have actually considered it, as it was a unique piece of star wars history. If I did, I would have to do the same with the vector prime trailer. Who's interested?

I would like to do the project, though, and, it looks like this is all we would really have to work with other than the DVD footage. I don't know, I do have a bad habit of having great ideas for these projects, and never following through with them! BTW, if you've seen some of the commercials ocpmovie put on his return of the ewok disc, you've seen that the quality of this isn't that much different that most adverts.

Can you send it to me? my email, as I said above, is:

(I have a good spam filter)

I have seen several copies of the vector prime commercial, from TF.N and the OS. All of them are very small. What is the size and quality of your copy?

I'm thinking of using the widescreen versions to restore this trailer, rather than full. This will give it more of a cinematic feel, plus, I don't have the full screen, I'm not stupid. I'm going to convert the other scenes to 16x9 format to give it more of a feel of a trailer.

Just dug up my copy, it's a 6 meg mpeg file running at 29 seconds and is in pretty good quality, easily watchable full screen

And, now, I have located the third, and final "book trailer" that Lucasfilm released, if anyone happens to be interested. It is from the "Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter" book from a while back.

Finally got around to downloading the SOTE trailer. Seems like it would be a fairly easy job to take the audio and play it over clips from the dvd, while recreating the interspersed logo effect by taking the original logo entrance from any of the films and playing it backwards, and if I had any idea whatsoever on how to do this, then, well, I would.

Alas, I wouldn't know where to start

It certainly sounds easy, doesn't it? Even to do a 30-second clip like that takes hours and hours and much patience and work. There are many processes involved to even get started. You have to decrypt the ESB and ROTJ DVD's, then demux them, then spend hours trying to match up the frames from the particlular DVD scenes in with the video already in the trailer. It is a lot of work! I would love to work on it, but it takes forever! Maybe we can bring a more experience editor that can do it faster and easier than I can. The trailer is pretty cool, and its too bad that it's in the shape it is. The copy I uploaded is supposedly the best available now. The thing took much searching to locate, I can't believe starwars.com never posted it!

BTW, someone at TFN tells me that in addition to these three book trailers, there was actually a fourth trailer, being for the Jedi Search series by Kevin J. Anderson. I'm going to have to search for it now.

Even using my tr-47 discs and nero I fairly confident I could put together a good approximation of the scenes, but haven't got the foggiest how you'd reverse the Star Wars crawl

Adobe Premeiere should be able to do the reverse effect. Unfortunately, I don't have that kind of cash. Who do you think could do the job?
