Welp that stinks but are all the episodes the original airing versions otherwise?
Hi, from Spain, I have the knight rider first release dvds that sold here(we don’t have Blu-ray, we don’t have a streaming sites where buy it or view it, only the dvds and TV broadcast).
In my box tell Spanish audio 2.0 mono/English stereo 2.0 in season 4.
I think we have a release only for us due of Spanish dubbing. Our release are different that the other European country’s. For example in 3x07 rottle apple we lost about 1 minute of scenes:
In this episode i have view also another thing, that I don’t know if are in another releases . When they are traveling in the bus with the song the girls speak to the guys in back of bus,but the girl voice was cut. In Spanish and English track. So it’s appears it singin by itself in silence, but she is speaking with the guys bus.
I this pack due to the prince song, in white riders universal take out the entire Spanish dubbing. Let the episode only in v.o. With the prince music changed.
They also cut the spanish dubbing in Give Me Liberty Or Give Me Death.
In the next episode.there is also 1 minute scene that lost Spanish dubbing.
I don’t know if the actual Spanish 2021 repack have changes in the songs in the v.o. But they don’t have recover the Spanish dubbing.
We have another DVD source, knight rider come out a few years later of Universal DVD release. In a collectible in kiosk. As universal dvds(all think that are released here are dual Spanish/english).
I check from now. They recover Spanish dubing in give me liberty or give me death and in white line riders they recover Spanish dubbing, cutting it in the prince song scene that is v.o.s (with the music changed).
I don’t know if the season 4 was stereo in these dvds.
The broadcast history was another little knightmare.
Knight rider was dubbed here in the public channel(that also buy a-team).
We have the pilot of knight rider dubbed 3 times. One time for VHS release.(with the Spanish a-team voices!!. Murdock was Michael knight!!.). Another the tve public channel original dubbing. And the redubing universal put in the dvds…
Then later back in 90 and 2000 and so. Knight rider(and the a-team to). Was broadcast in private channels. And they always cut 4 minutes, the scene with the song in give me liberty or give me death, that start with Michael and Devon talking in the semi.
That happened always until 2016 when in a new TV broadcast they redubbed the 4 minutes with the song changed and recovery the scenes in Apple chapter. An redubing the 1 minute scene of 1x16.
Now there is a another broadcasting of knight rider and a-team in tv.
I in the way to record it to compare. They are only begining.
About the A-team I don’t have checked the music cuts. (we have two two version dvd from Universal and kiosk DVD).
But during years in the TV they always cut the pilot episode and not broadcast it . Starting in 1x02
Also the private channel makes some redubing. And the dvds takes Spanish dubbing some from the public channel, some from private channel.
I was researching edits to the A-TEAM series and a user named jeremy223 compiled a list of the changes as follows:
SEASON 1
Mexican Slayride: “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” has been replaced with new music and footage of Murdock singing along has been cut. Columbia House VHS has this scene intact.
The Columbia House DVD spanish soundtrack plays “Jumpin’ Jack Flash”, but the scene with Murdock singing along is still missing.A Small and Deadly War: A scene with Murdock singing “Satisfaction” has been cut. Columbia House VHS, Itunes, VUDU, and Google Play have this scene intact.
SEASON 2
When You Comin’ Back , Range Rider?: Part of Hannibal’s dialog is cut. In the line “Now you tell Mr. Carter he’s out of the rustling business.” all words are missing except rustling business. This scene is intact on Netflix.SEASON 3
Cup A’ Joe: The song “Cheeseburger in Paradise” has been removed.
Beverly Hills Assault: The songs “The Heat is On” and “Dedicated Follower of Fashion” have been replaced with new music. “The Heat is On” can be found intact on VUDU and Google Play.SEASON 4
Teasers are missing from several episodes. The missing teasers can be found on Netflix and Amazon digital downloads.SEASON 5
No changes that I know of.Keep in mind that this was compiled before the Blu-ray release and some may be fixed, but I checked the pilot and it still has Murdock singing cut out with replacement music instead of “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” as intended. I believe most of these are still edited even on the Blu-ray.
Hi, what are the DVD that have the Spanish track with the “Jumpin’ Jack Flash”?. I want buy it. I think the track is correct, on the sense that in the other murdock cut scene in deadly maneuvers the cut scene its not dubbed in a TV broadcast… As dubbing actors normally don’t dubbing the original actors when signing.
And is Spanish from Spain or from another country?.
Thank you!.
This just a curiosity about knight rider that people outside spain don’t know. But it’s funny I want share it.
This is the first announce of knight rider that Spanish TV public channel do of knight rider back in 1985. It inside of another program that talk about the channel programming.
The funny think of that it’s the argument… The presenter tell that
“the científics of knight industries works to set up a new car for Michael,it would be indestructible with a talking computer connected to a sensor implanted in the brain of Michael, the car is fantastic, word of honor”
XD.
may be worth keeping an eye on https://forlifetv.com/browse/ Knight Rider currently on demand and free to view in the UK, not all episodes are listed yet but looks like they are showing feature length episodes

Very interesting!
So far the only episode that has an edit on Bluray that is available is Give Me Liberty… Or Give Me Death.
The missing music track is present on this version, but the teaser has gone.
It will be interesting to see what is in other episodes as they become available. I still hold out hope for some stereo tracks from season 4 Knight of the Juggernaut and Burial Ground!
Just to update everyone…
I have it on very good authority that the recent German Blu-ray release by Turbine is fully uncut.
That means all the music edits and movie length Knight of the Drones (including the original title sequence) are all included.
I am not yet sure whether they’ve sourced stereo soundtracks for Season 4 but will let you all know when I know.
It’s not a cheap set but worth every penny if you value the episodes being uncut.

In their press for the release they said it has the stereo sound so wow the usa release couldn’t give us as complete a package as the German set has they have the complete episodes as aired including audio.

Seems to be Mono for those episodes from a German fan https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=319676&page=20
Pity.
Turbine media confirmed with the people in charge of the show those two episodes were done in mono. so no stereo audio exists of those two episodes. so yes this is the complete package the show is finally given it’s due.
I’m not convinced that there was never a stereo track for KotJ or Burial Ground. Not one in existence now perhaps, but it would be odd for an episode midway through the season to be mono when the rest are stereo.
I guess we may never know…

Here’s a reply about it on blu-ray.com forum
Knight of the Juggernaut I kinda get as it was the first episode so possibly time deadlines and being off location in Chicago maybe it wasn’t ideal to do it.
Can’t really explain Burial Ground, only other than the fact that it’s the third episode of the season to be filmed so maybe the Stereo equipment for filming failed or something or again time and budget.
My take on it I take it as a huge win because the usa release is completely incomplete in comparison and just having the two eps audio being mono and not having the extended preview is to me a ok loss. at least it’s a petty much complete we never had a release this complete.
I know I’ve seen that but even so. I have a Burial Ground VHS NICAM recording from the UK Bravo channel around 2000. I recall when I last played it, the sound was only on one channel. I left it and didn’t bother exploring further.
When I next get my VHS deck set up I’m going to capture it and listen to the audio more carefully.
It could possibly be that it was just the 1 channel of the stereo which should be pretty easy to tell when listening to the opening theme.
If that is the case, it introduces the possibility that the original stereo master was damaged or discarded when it was found to be faulty.
Although I don’t own this set, my initial thoughts from reading about it were it is indeed the ultimate set for collectors.
However, I do have some concerns for it’s completeness. I’ve asked a friend to compare episodes to my reconstructed ones.
One that is now confirmed is evidence that the Knight of the Drones intro on the set is probably reconstructed rather than original. That isn’t a problem in itself - in fact, it shows great dedication on the part of Turbine in putting it back together. The result though is that it is missing the short sequence of KITT’s dash that was unique to that opening. They’ve replaced it using a similar shot, just as I did when I recreated it myself.

I hear turbine media seems to be a company that goes above and beyond to give you the complete package. like shout factory only competent unlike what shout has become as of late.

Hi,
You’ve probably seen my posts on the other forum, it was myself that approached Turbine on Facebook about the two episodes in Season 4 being in mono.
I’d be very surprised if they didn’t put the effort in to find stereo tracks for them given the love and care done for the other bits.
In regards to Knight of the Juggernaut, do you have the Knight Rider VHS Volume box sets released around 2000?
One of them had that episode on it and I wonder if that’s Stereo.
What concerns do you have in it’s completeness if you don’t mind me asking?
In regards to the Knight of the Drones intro, are you referring to the very brief full shot of KITT’s dash just before he drives past the explosion?
I do wonder if the intro was done by NBC for premiere night only and only on video tape for TV transmission.
This is the only plausible explanation to me, it also makes sense as Goliath has been said to have had a extended teaser before the start of the episode which again hasn’t been seen since it’s premiere and that was definitely created by NBC.
I have a VHS of KotJ from around that time but it’s mono.
My other concerns are around the original music - Dead of Knight specifically. Blu-ray releases to date have had silence where the Prince track should be, followed by some rather prominent clapping.
From what I’ve been told, the BluRay now has the music, but it doesn’t match volume 100% with the original - it goes up and down at different points. It also still has the prominent clapping. It is possible that they have recreated this one too (probably by overlaying the Prince track on the “silent” track). My friend is going to listen to it again and closely compare to my restored version so I wouldn’t take this one as 100% confirmed yet.
As I said, I actually applaud Turbine for putting the effort into these bits, but I think they should be be clear that they are recreations as they are not 100% true to the originals.
KotD - you could be right but I think it’s unlikely. NBC had a definite style to their changes - they were more of a promotional nature. I don’t think the different credits would have been created by them (but I’m only speculating of course!)
The one part of a box set right?
Knight Rider Historians has a video on that comparing all 3 versions, have you seen that yourself?
https://youtu.be/au69yNAGpLo
About 6 minutes in.
I’ve just watched it myself and see what you mean, the clapping is very obvious on the silent version, you can still hear it on the Turbine release but of course drowned out a bit with the Prince song.
I can’t hear any obvious fluctuations in volume on the Turbine version, though it’s not the most fair comparison with a nearly 40 year old VHS tape vs a new lossless HD master, it sounds far more crisp anyway but yes very little if any clapping on the NBC broadcast.
Of course and no denying that, I guess it’s 99% done it’s as near as original and unless you do a A/B comparison it’s not obvious.
That is true about NBC, unless it was something done in agreement with Universal for premiere night only and long junked.
Who knows unless someone from NBC at the time is on here!
The VHS I have is this one:

When I said the volume fluctuates, I mean that it changes more prominently from sounding like it’s playing on the radio as opposed to incidental music.
Like I said, I will wait for my friend to confirm 100%. My restored version comes from a TV recording I made around 2000. It was done “live” from a digital broadcast and captured through an analog connection to my soundcard at 48000hz. It’s (almost) as good as it could be considering it came from a broadcast. It should be very easy to make an accurate comparison.
That’s the one I’ve got in my stash too I think.
I see ok, keep us posted on what your friend says.
Is he going to be checking it all or only stuff you have concerns over?
I think he’s going to check them all but I wouldn’t imagine there’s a problem with the John Cougar Mellencamp tracks as they were fine on the DVD sets.
It’s really Dead of Knight and White Line Warriors that need to be confirmed.
I remember on the US DVD version from 2005 ish, Knight of the Drones was missing “Little Red Corvette” in the start of the second act with the shots over San Francisco leading into the club with the women dancing to no music again.
Did this get corrected on the BluRay? If so then how does it sound vs original broadcast?
That was correct on the UK release (provided you got the movie length edit). I don’t have the US release to check.
That’s pretty much definitely the original as I very much doubt that Fabulous Films would have spent the time/money on putting it back in.
I’ve got a friend who has the US set which has the syndicated cut of it.
If that’s the case then just speculating here, universal must have remastered the DME tracks from the original masters and supplied to all the distributors.
Makes you wonder if they had a new master track with When Doves Cry for “Dead of Knight”.
Any joy from your friend yet?
That could possibly be the case. No reply from my friend yet. I will of course update here when I know for sure but don’t hold your breath for a quick response! We sometimes don’t exchange msgs for weeks lol
