Turner Classic Movies has the movie 2001 Space Odyssey, which is 2 hours and 40 minutes long (it says on the website). Question: Does TCM show an uncut version of the movie? If so, has anyone recorded this movie?
Uncut? As in they show the theatrical cut with no edits? Probably.
Uncut? As in showing an extended cut of the film?
Absolutely not.
The studio found the deleted scenes and locked them away as was Kubrick’s wishes. Unlikely they’ll be seen anytime soon.
The discrepancy in the running time is likely just they show the movie with a built in intermission.
The picture’s running time is 2 hours and 19 minutes which is a combination of two acts—act one includes Overture and Intermission, and the 2nd act includes entr’acte. It is very likely that the station airing the film—TCM—may use the remaining 19 minutes to air promotions of their other programs and some other clips.
