Help Wanted: 35mm print request - Deadly Friend (1986) & Fright Night Part II (1988)

I am interested in preserving 2 movies I feel need a 35mm preservation if anyone is willing to use their know-how of, one, tracking down the prints if they are even available and, two, cleaning up the prints.  I am willing to compensate them for the prints and their time of doing any clean up/edits, of course.  The 2 films I am searching for are:

Deadly Friend (1986)

Fright Night Part II (1988)

Any and all help getting this started would be very much appreciated.  Thanks for taking the time to read this and I look forward to hearing from those of you interested in getting involved.

I'm not going to say that you potentially wouldn't benefit from a 35mm print, as it's always nice to have new material for comparisons sake, but considering how good this one is, I'd definitely focus on your other film, Deadly Friend first.  

Thanks for the response.  I figured as much.  I hoped that by posting this thread those that have access to the whereabouts of 35mm prints would see this and possibly lend a helping hand.

I have that and my own release of FN2 already using the 1080i file, however considering that it is an HDTV file, it's original encode was an MPEG-2 which causes multiple scene-changes to have pixelated blocks (which you will notice if you analyze the scene-changes frame by frame) and the sound could use a professional DTS-HD MA encode.  Using the original film elements would sharpen the picture quality significantly as well as give this film the flawless release that it deserves.

Definitely interested in locating the Deadly Friend 35mm print, though, due to its rarity and likelyhood of never being given an official Blu release, my sights would definitely be set on that one first and foremost.  Thanks for the message

A fair amount of us have our coffers kinda tight considering we've contributed to other such projects which are being processed at the moment.

Patience is a virtue but only money and serious interest will get the ball rolling.

 Thanks, appreciate the response and the welcome.  I am more than willing to invest in whatever its going to take to get this done, if it can in fact be done.

Or, if you come to a fan preservation forum, which this is, you find people that do these types of preservations as a hobby and some, for a living.

35mm prints pop up every now and then on ebay and there are also people "in the know" on where else prints of these types can be purchased.  Typically, prints of this nature can start at a couple hundred dollars and go into the thousands.  I have seen users "chip-in" and collaborations have been made for these types of projects in this forum alone, so I know it has been done and can be done again for a reasonable amount of money with the right group of people.  Again, I am more than willing to be on the high-end of the "chipping-in" part.

My purpose for creating this thread is to simply put my requests out there, in hopes that this could be the start of 2 very amazing fan preservations.  I am also well aware of the time, effort, labor and cost something like this consumes. I am currently keeping tabs on this thread:

Which, btw, I am thoroughly impressed with.  With a little luck and a lot of support, I would love to see these two films get Team Negative1's attention.

Thanks for the info and I will definitely keep my eyes open, as I have been.  I'm sure there are a number of places where 35mm prints can be found, ebay is just the most generic.  If anyone has any information on any of these titles or a known location as to where they could be purchased, please, let me know.  If anyone is willing to help in this matter, it would be very much appreciated.  I'm not so much "in the know" about all know-how's or know-where's but as a serious and interested fan, I'm all for getting this on the go in any way possible with the help of you people.  Thanks again for the response and here's to hoping my requests can, at some point in time, be fulfilled.

When you find one you can ask the AMPS heavyweights if they know anyone who can scan it. Some people might donate to your costs, but you'll probably have to bear the brunt of the cost. It's very premature to ask people to help now before you have a print and someone who will scan it. :)

This thread was to put my requests out there for people "in the know" of locating a print and possibly helping with its preservation.  That is all.  I did not and am not asking for people to pay any money right now.  I would simply like to know if anyone would be interested in helping with the preservation of these two films.  A simple yes or a no is all I was asking for with regard to who would like to help should the time come that a) a print is located and b) funding needed to be in place for the scanning, clean-up and preservation.  Thanks for the message, though :)

I have the 35mm feature film for fright night part 2 if your still interested. It has been in studio film shipping container for years.
