Help: Looking For... The Stanley Kubrick Collection HDTV Rips

In my opinion the 1999 DVD releases of The Stanley Kubrick Collection are the best versions of the films to date. They were all taken from earlier home video transfers with the exception of EWS. This means that they would most likely have more accurate color timing and the original mono mixes of the films. A large amount of the films are presented in 4:3 as they were shot open matte. However after attempts at upscaling them with suboptimal results, I decided to find HD versions. While there are 4:3 versions in HD of The Shining and FMJ, they are both from the BD masters which have altered sound mixes and color timing. I am looking for HDTV or SDTV rips of either the 1999 or 2001 versions as the 2001 version is also very close to the original. Any help would be appreciated.

Honestly the best way to watch these is either the boxset DVDs themselves or syncing their mono audio to the UHD releases. The Shining and Full Metal Jacket have DVD mono syncs already. 2001’s UHD comes with its original audio intact. Color-wise the UHD releases look fabulous and are probably as close as we’ll get to original intent.

I wouldn’t say “theatrical” blue credits for The Shining cause there’s no absolute proof that they were blue in theaters

Yes there was an ABC broadcast that had the end credits in blue but who’s to know if they weren’t made blue for the broadcast or it was an error when creating the TV master?

I’m mildly curious as to what that version looks like, as there was an HD master of FMJ used for the early 2006 Blu-Ray & HD-DVD releases that allegedly looked bad. A remaster came out a year later.

Funny thing is Netflix actually did use the 2006 master (I could tell cause the colors looked much weaker than the blu-ray) and I can confirm it looked pretty bad
