Have you guys seen that Comcast commercial?

I don't know how many of you use Comcast for your cable usages, but have you seen the Comcast commercial? It's been running for like 2 months now, but for some goofy reason I hang my head and giggle everytime I see it. I'm not sure why. Must be the fan girl in me.

For those of you who don't have Comcast, Mark Hamill is in the commercial for like 4 seconds as some "future expert." I don't know why I find it funny, but I do. Every damn time.

I swear there was a thread about this, already.

And have you noticed that Harrison Ford has done, like, absolutly nothing lately. The last good movie he was in was "K-19: The Widow Maker," and that was 4 years ago. And even then, that movie wasn't anything to stand up and clap about. Okay, the guy is like 62 years old and can retire from cinema if he so chooses, but I wonder why he is deciding to go out with a fizzle rather than a bang. His last few movies have sucked. And that is sad. (And didn't he have a couple of drinks before attending the Golden Globes? I don't know, I didn't watch. Just what I heard.)

Hell, at this point I'm tempted to think that if Lucas were to make Episode 7, Harrison would sign on just because it would be the best chance to be in spot light again. And who the hell knows what Carrie Fisher is doing now a days. Writing I think. I saw her in some TV movie with the girl who plays Donna from "That 70's Show." I only watched like 7 minutes of it.

Anyway...what was the point about this thread again? I donno. Just making conversation.

Well, I'm sure Harrison will be back in the spotlight again for Indy 4! I just read yesterday that he's now given Lucas and Spielberg TWO years to get Indy 4 made or otherwise, he says he's not interested.

Were did you read this piece of information?

Indiana Jones is NEVER going to happen. Originally, yes, there was hope, but since Lucas decided that the script wasn't good enough for him he threw it away and has been "working" on the revised version. Of course he won't ever get back to it because he is working on his little Star Wars TV show script.

I say, let Indiana Jones remain a trilogy because Lord knows, by this point, the 4th one is gonna suck.

No, the report at the moment is that Indy 4 is taking precedence over the SW TV series. At the ROTS DVD press event, McCallum said that George intends to work primarily on it and that Red Tails film and get them finalized before he focuses personally on the SW TV series.

LOL, yeah a group of movies Lucas refuses to admit existed in his mind at one time probably have a better likelihood of being made than Indy 4! Not gonna happen...course I'll still go see it. I saw the prequels, so I'll of course go so low as to see the death of the Indy franchise. At least it should be funny. Better than that lame Into the Blue and other such sorry excuses for American cinema nowadays.

Please Lucas & Spielberg, say no to Indiana Jones IV!

There is no need to make another Indy movie, The Last Crusade they ride off in the sunset, and that is a perfect ending to a good trilogy. The first one is a classic, the other two are good sequels, and thats it.

If I go by anything of the PT and Godfather III, is when you make movies of a series 15 years apart, it never works, it's just too much time, and the director usually changes for the worst. Coppola, Lucas, DePalma, guys like this lose their drive that they have as young directors, and don't have the hunger they did when they made their classics in the 70's. Is it a coincidence that the best films of Lucas & Coppola are their first few efforts?

Sometimes when they are up again huge odds to finish a movie, or don't have the budget they would like, just as Coppola was about to get fired making The Godfather, and how he had a heart attack trying to finish Apocalypse Now, and how Lucas almost had a nervous breakdown shooting the original SW, and Spielberg couldn't get the shark to work in Jaws, that is why those movies are great. Now with their unlimited budgets, and secure lifestyle, and raising kids makes that director lose that edge.

Sure Spielberg still is great, and of course he would direct Indy IV, so I know it won't suck like TPM did, but it still isn't needed, I had the memories of SW ending on Endor, and that was ruined by the PT, let me remember Indy by Harrision Ford & Connery riding off in the sunset. Come on George, don't ruin this trilogy too! You had SW backlash, do you want a whole slew of Indy fans to hate you now?

Well, look at it this way. With the PT, you went into it with high hopes, and were greatly disappointed. Maybe, since you will go into Indy 4 will very low hopes, you will be pleased.

Maybe.

ALIENS was cutting it close, but atleast there was a 7 year gap in between the first (1979) and second movie (1986). And the storyline and directing was phenominal. But had they waited any longer, it would have become less believable. (Especially since Ripley was supposed to be in hybernation, yet she would have aged like 15 years. Not good.)

But don't get me started about Alien 3 and 4. Those movies are so bad that they make my brain hurt. They are dead to me; they don't even exist. I say that about the PT all the time, but when it comes to Alien 3 and 4, I REALLY mean it. They don't exist for me. They never did. Ever.

Speaking of K-19 The Widowmaker....that also featured Liam Neeson, aka Qui GOn Jinn.

Two Star Wars actors in a film thats not about star wars.

Not to mention that they are from two different SW trilogies...

It's not mentioned because it's irrelevant. I'm pretty sure everyone else made that connection well before you typed it up.

<span class=“Italics”>MeBeJedi: Sadly, I believe the prequels are beyond repair.
<span class=“Bold”>JediRandy: They’re certainly beyond any repair you’re capable of making.</span></span>

<span class=“Italics”>MeBeJedi: You aren’t one of us.
<span class=“Bold”>Go-Mer-Tonic: I can’t say I find that very disappointing.</span></span>

Brokeback Mountain is still out, though. It was, IMHO, one of the best films of 2005.

There was a point during that film where they're in the tent at night. I mean, Ennis is outside under a blanket at first, and Jack is in the tent. But it gets cold, so Jack invites Ennis in the tent. Then late at night, one takes the others hand, and then BOOM! They both quickly unzip their jeans and Ennis starts giving Jack anal sex. It was quite a shocking moment! And then the next morning, they both keep denying that they are gay and try to avoid the subject, but just end up fucking again.

the thing is why do they have wives and children if they are gay? are they bisexual or what?

Either that, or they were simply trying to "fit in" with the rest of the world.
