Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix [REVISITED] [w/ PoA]

PREVIEW CLIPS

PROJECT DETAILS

When I started out with my Harry Potter Revisited franchise, it was all about acknowledging that Harry Potter 1 & 2 were respectively out of date and non-consistent with the rest of the series. When Alfonso Quaron took over the helmet in the Prisoner of Azkaban he gave the series what they so desperately needed: a gritty, realistic atmosphere in an elsewhere magical fantasyworld. He grounded the series, much like the Lord of the Rings Trilogy grounded Tolkien’s fantasy books for the big screen; in what could have been an ancient, forgotten world.

I took Alfonson’s approach to Philosopher’s Stone and Chamber of Secrets, as well as touching upon the two movies with new sfx, music, effects and colors, and alteration of the two movie’s pacing. Then, after a break, I started to commence work on a much more dreaded task - editing the Goblet of Fire (which I undoubtedbly think is the weakest link in the entire franchise) - and put Prisoner of Azkaban on hold (finding it to be a less complicated task at the time, therefore awaiting that project for another time).

Now, having finished Sorcerer’s Stone, Chamber of Secrets and the Goblet of Fire, I think it is time to complete the franchise once and for all. Work has commenced on Prisoner of Azkaban, Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince - all siminoutanesly.

PROJECT PROGRESS AND FURTHER DETAILS

Order of the Phoenix is actually one of my favorite HP movies, alongside Prisoner of Azkaban. The movie is fast-paced, often intense, and it has big stakes for our characters. I think the movie’s biggest flaw is its feeling of complete dissonence from the rest of the series, feeling much less like a Harry Potter movie and much more like a drama/thriller piece. Therefore, my biggest priority has been to establish a greater connection between this and the rest of the series - including remastered versions (by myself) for Voldemort’s Theme, A Window to the Past, Hogwart’s Theme, Neville’s (upcoming DH) theme, Gilderoy Lockhart’s Theme (now more of a Dark Arts Class theme), Quidditch Theme and more.

The movie has also been color graded to remove the heavy reliance on blue (just like the nightmare Color Grade i’ve been through on HBP, just way, way easier - more on that at a later time), and the pacing has been mostly kept intact; although some late-placed deleted scenes have been re-incorporated for emotional weight and a better closure. A lot of scenes has also been removed with Filtch, as I’m not fond of his complete turn to a clown in this paticular film piece.

I’ve also taken my time in creating new scenes (which can both be witnessed in the uncomplete Opening Preview up above, as well as the completed Dementor Attack preview). The movie has most of its scenes altered one way or another, be it color, SFX (which a lot of new sound mixes has been made), music, pacing, fixes or even alterations to a paticular object, character or background on the screen.

Let’s remaster this magic!

And like always; give me ideas, feedback and love! It will help perfect a product I think will be greatly enjoyed.

All of the previews look amazing!

Suggestions:
-I would like to see the classic train music from Sorcerer’s Stone return for the ending
-Maybe add some more flashbacks from the first 4 movies in the scenes where Snape and Voldi get into Harry’s mind to get
more continuity
-take out the “We fly of course” scene, Harry and the others wanted to use the chimney and it was possible after they got rid of Umbrigde. It makes way more sense, why they would fly to the ministry wtf
-Add a voice over of Sirius mentioning the fate of Neville’s parents (and maybe Bellatrix screams) when Neville and Harry talk after the DA meeting. It gets brushed over so quickly in this movie, I didnt even undertand it in the first few viewings
-Same with Susan Bones voice when Luna talks about Harry being able to use a patronus. It was originally Bones kid that
brought it up so it was a nice payoff and casting a patronus is a big deal in that universe
-Don’t add music for the big fight at the end, it is supposed to be silent

That’s all for now, good luck and keep us updated bro!

Those are some excellent and well-thought out ideas, man. I really liked them all. And you’d be happy to know I’ve added plenty of flashbacks already. Continuity is main priority for me!

The one I might not alter, although i definitely agree with your logic, is the “We fly of course”. The Thestrals have been featured and teased for a purpose since the start of the movie, so to simply just not let them serve a purpose at the end would falter that entire plotline.

Neville has gotten his own emotional theme in this movie as well - featured at key points in the story to add to his emotional struggle, and that idea of yours is brilliant. I’ll add that dialogue.

And yes, the battle at the end will have no music. It’s so tense and real, just the way it should be.

Neville’s Theme / Neville’s Struggle

So here is a video preview of what I think might work for an emotional Neville’s Theme throughout the series, as well as to better explain Neville’s background (as most viewers don’t get it the first time). A lot of fans have stated that the fate of Neville’s parents are so quickly brushed over and forgotten, that I tried to emphasize these points by adding back in a quick flashback from Sirius’s talk with Harry (to clear the point across that they died to Bellatrix), and also to create a much more emotional soundtrack that might evolve through until DH.

Hello Andreas, I really like this Harry Potter fanedit project and look forward to see the the progress and results!

As a suggestion that I think is important that didn’t make it in the fifth movie but out of the blue was in the seventh movie; the mirror of Sirius!
Is it possible to include it in Order of the Phoenix in any way, so the callback in Deathly Hallows Part 1 is fullfilled?
