No, Sessler, I'm not on the forums there. I haven't been frequenting the site very long. I might join up eventually.

And, yeah, ADM, Dumbledore might have been asking Snape to kill him in order to keep Draco from being a killer. I'm not exactly sure why it would have had to have been in front of Harry, though. I mean, obviously, he was there, but I don't see why you think it was Dumbledore's plan to have Harry watch him die.

i dont think it was dumbledores plan to let harry watch, but once they had landed and he sent harry off he knew that he had made a mistake. but there was nothing he could do to fix it.

I'm almost positive it will be, I mean, it wouldn't be Year 7 if he didn't even go to school.

I also don't think Hermione would work so hard at school to quit the last year and miss her N.E.W.T.s

But Dumbledore froze Harry into place. So clearly he wanted him to stay and witness.

Yeah, but I don't think it was to keep Harry there to see him die. It was to keep him from getting caught by the Death Eaters that had made their way to the top of the tower.

I don't think that is the reason he froze Harry. I think it was more because if Harry saw Dumbledore in trouble he would of course try to help him and put his very life at risk going against not only Malfoy but a dozen Death Eaters.

Dumbledore just didn't want Harry to get killed trying to save an already dying man whose fate is set in stone. He also knew that only Harry could continue his quest for the Horcruxes.

Don't forget that Regulus was also a Death Eater, which makes even more sense if you think about it. Maybe he finally realised the error of his ways, and was killed by Voldemort after Voldemort realised what Black had done. Just a thought.

Due to the fact that JKR almost admitted that the fans got it right with Regulus, even this soon, what I want to know is why didn't he destroy the locket right away?

We all have our theories on what motive he had (redeem himself to his brother, just couldn't follow through, etc) but I find it interesting that he left such a valuable part of Lord Voldemort(oh for heaven's sake, stop cringing) in a desk.

I just thought of something, though. If Dumbledore was aware of the Unbreakable Vow and knew that either Draco or Snape had to kill him, then why did he spend all that time trying to convince Draco that he could hide him and his mother away safely? Do you think he was just buying time for Severus?

Of course, that's assuming that Dumbledore and Snape had a plan to begin with, which is a very big assumption.

it is indeed, but knowing dumbledore i jsut cant see him make that big of a mistake. i also feel that the situation would have been protrayed much differently if snape had actually betrayed dumbledore.

I could see him making that big of a mistake. After all, Dumbledore took the blame for every tragedy that happened in Order of the Phoenix. In fact, that was one of my theories as to why he had to die in Half-Blood Prince, because he was no longer infallible.

Did she? Where? I admit the only post-Prince interview I've read is the MuggleNet/Leaky Cauldron interview, and still only the first two parts of that one are out. If you know Rowling saying that, could you point me in the right direction?
