Hi everyone, thank you for the interest in the 4K filmized remasters and fanedits. Unfortunately, I have to take a break from this amazing journey because of other priorities. The Alien Saga Redux will probably be my last thread on this forum until a long time. Every project teased and/or released until now will still be available. You’ll always be able to reach me in private. Anyone being active on the forum will always get a DM. But on the other side, anyone creating an account only to send me a DM won’t have any reply. During the last days, I’ve received many link requests from new accounts that unfortunately cannot be trusted. I hope you’ll understand. Take care everyone and thank you for your reviews and replies. This is awesome work man. The quality looks amazing! I followed the other open matte project from another forum for a while but sadly that project was not meant to be.

I’ve just dedicated my spare room to a small but awesome home theatre setup and to give these a proper watch in full screen on the big screen would be such a delight to watch. I hope you continue on with the project and get it the way you want it to be! I’ll continue to check in from time to time.

You wouldn’t happen to have a small snippet of the film that’s uploaded by chance anywhere?

I am a huge Harry Potter Fan, and i didnt watch the movies since they were in the cinema over 10 years ago.

UPDATE 11.08.24

The whole saga is getting a 4K Filmized Remaster update, using my better experience and the V3 treatment of this process I developped and used on my recent LOTR trilogy remasters (available on this forum). What will change ? Less artificial upscale of the image, less grain reduction and more consistant film stock grain overall. The Theatrical cut of HP1 will have the correct English audio track with the alternate “Sorcerer” scenes instead of “Philosopher” scenes, so the whole theatrical cut will now be open matte. Freezing frames on HP8 will also be fixed. It will also be an opportunity to encode them all in 2160p 4:2:0 10 bits since the previous 8 bits releases caused macro-blocking issues at some point on HP 2-3-4-5-6-7.

New screenshots look good! Just a shame they all made them so dark and desaturated. The first two films are still the most magical looking really.

HI, i own the Blue ray colletion for this saga wich i love, they look great but…open matte 4k??? that looks amazing. Hey there! Works like your are gems for fans. We are nothing but very lucky. I have just finished watching the edits of Harry Potter 1 - 4 by @icebox616 on Reddit and had my mind blown. Since then I’ve been searching for hours for more like it and stumbled here. From reading about @iceboc616’s experience I can tell how hard this work is, especially to do it all for free. If there is anyway I can support, please let me know. I would love to watch and experience your work too, if you don’t mind sharing it.

In Spain there is a bit of tradition for some open TV channels to show this saga during Christmas, I have watched them from my blurays months ago but now I really would like to watch them from this amazing edit if you can share them. Merry Christmas and almost happy new year!
