Harry Potter 1 and 2 Extended Editions with Mixed Aspect Ratio

Just a project to combine the Open Matte versions of the first two Harry Potter films with their official extended editions. The extended scenes are in the original 2.40:1 aspect ratio, as well as two shots before and after one deleted scene. Otherwise Open Matte (16:9 aspect ratio) was kept as much as possible. Audio is taken from the Extended Edition.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is complete.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is also now complete.

I’ve never had reliable external hard drives before, and got tired of losing projects I made so I stopped editing for a long time. Now prices have come down and drives are conveniently small and USB powered and super fast transfer speeds.

Also, I love the open matte versions of the films and think that the extended editions of the first two help the films - SS a bit, and CoS so much I refuse to watch it non-extended.

I’m unlikely to work in 4k - my laptop isn’t powerful enough to render it with any semblance of speed. However, I may get in contact with JJPotter and MJBenito to consider using their work as a basis for mixed aspect ratio extended editions of 4-8. Film 3 will not benefit from an open matte version so I’ll continue to use JJPotter’s for my personal viewing.

HP2 on the spleen. Any suggestions on a free way to host the 21gb files elsewhere?

Have you tried MEGA? They have a 50GB file limit for free users.
