Can anyone post the chapter marks for ESB OUT? And ROTJ OUT if available :)
There was a lot of blue in the original version of ESB, the problem with the SE version isn't so much that it's too blue, like it is that the blue is turned into cyan and it drowns out other colors.
I wonder if Harmy could use the new Team Negative 1 source for some of the cloud city shots to cover up Special Edition changes.

Looking at the crawl again, it looks like there's some light bleeding in from the edge of the frame in the lower-right corner, and that abruptly disappears around frame 2696 or so (not exact, that was my reaction time for hitting pause).
Odd, it looks like there might be light bleeding in from that corner periodically throughout the film. It's there again at around frame 29080. And it appears to be there in the GOUT, so I guess it's on the OCN.
Do we have any idea what the new sources will be?

Ok, I must be blind as hell, but I can't find a search button for this forum, much less a "search this thread" button. So with that said, even a Google search hasn't helped me a ton. Here's my situation: I have only Macs and no Blu-Ray burner. I have downloaded the latest versions of the 3 Despecialized editions. I can play the SW .mkv version in VLC, but the AVCHD files from ESB and ROTJ don't play in VLC, Quicktime, and won't open in Handbrake, contrary to what I HAVE found. I really just want to stream the files to one of the half dozen boxes I have hooked up to my TV if possible. Is there a good post somewhere that explains how to do this?
Again, I am very sorry for posting what I am sure is an oft-asked question, but I have spent a couple of hours looking online, and just can't find a good reference for this.

Open the AVCHD. Go to the BDMV folder. Open that then open the STREAM folder. Play the .m2ts file with VLC. Done.
The forum search sucked so much, it was removed. True story.
Then bring it back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey there Harmy, Team Negative1 recently posted screenshots from their 35mm film prints of ESB, and I noticed the scene in which Luke is inside the tank has a radically different colour scheme from that of your 2.0 workprint, as there is no hint of blue inside the bacta tank and Luke's flesh tone is readily apparent, the ceiling itself has a decidedly greenish tint. I also noticed the medbay scene has more vivid colours as opposed to the washed out colours from the workprint.
Well, the WP is just a first pass and the correction is more scene by scene than shot by shot, so thing will still likely change quite a bit. That being said, Team Negative1 also recently posted a comparison of the two prints they are using for ESB and they are both severely faded, so to get rid of the fading, they have to be heavily color corrected and therefore can hardly be used as a literal reference.
I just noticed that this release (at least the one from MySpleen) does not have a german dub ... is there any chance somebody could send me a link to the german audio so I can create a german version with TS Muxer?

PM sent.
Hi guys. Maybe I'm blind, but I cannot find any subtitles in version of the ESB downloaded from Myspleen (my VLC doesn't see them). I'm particularly interested in English subtitles. Could someone help me somehow?
Search for Project Threepio on Myspleen.

Did you ever decide on a color reference for this one?

So far, I'm sticking with color-boosted GOUT with a bit of PSB and 97SE thrown in.

Sounds good!
Just wondering: Have you seen the 1985 CAV LD release?
I don't know how accurate its colors are, but it looks the "best" to me.

I haven't seen it but I don't know if it can be trusted any more than any of these other sources.
I think the thing the 85 CAV release has going for it is that if it's a transfer from 1985, then the film elements would have been only five years old when the transfer was made, so theoretically less fading. But as for all the other crap that can go wrong with color during a transfer, it's just as suspect as everything else, if not moreso.

FWIW: Another thing it has going for it is that no digital trickery was used.
I do agree with both of you, however, that it's just as suspect as the other existing sources.
I still think it's certainly worth checking out and comparing to them.
It just feels "right" to me, ya know? O_O
