Since this appears to have come out can someone help me out with the links? I'd be most grateful.

OK, I finally finished the comparisons. It's a powerpoint presentation and you can find it here.

Just watched it. Amazing! Your comparisons between the GOUT, SE and your DE were great and the explanations for what was done to each shot was a very nice addition as well. Looking forward to A New Hope. Mark me down for a workprint review when it's ready! :-)

Might I have a PM please?

Well, it's not 100% seamless when you know what to look for but yeah, I'm pretty proud of those shots :-)

Well, it looks like I've finally got it right, though I have to watch the whole film to be sure. Spectacular work Harmy. I do think I'll have to adjust my TV a bit since the lightsabers' glow looks strange.

This looks fantastic Harmy. Thanks again.

While waiting for one of the GOUT upscale projects to be finished, I'm working on what can be done using the 97SE. Here's a little preview:

Looks good, as always you do the BEST work around here Harmy.

I have a question, is there any audio mix of Empire prior to the SE that has the music for Boba Fett's departure correctly mixed? Just curious to see if there's at least one good thing about the SE.

Author

There is not.  The music for that scene was always hacked up in the original version, unfortunately.  However, I made a custom hybrid 5.1 that splices in the '97 mix for that section, so that in every way it is the original except with the music cue presented intact.  Linked to on megaupload at the very bottom of this post: http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/Star-Wars-1977-70mm-sound-mix-recreation-stereo-and-51-versions-now-available/post/403997/#TopicPost403997

Sorry for taking up space in your thread, Harmy, but I wanted to make sure he saw it.  ;)  Further discussion of this topic should take place in the 70mm thread.

Fucking killer presentation man, good job, just finished watching.

My only complaint is that the colors are still blown out, still quite over saturated. I know you said you dug that look but it makes faces look red at times (among other things)... You think you'll ever tweak it?

I think I won't because I already got rid of the source files from my HDD and moved on to Ep4. Here's a an idea though, there's a saturation setting on every TV and most computer monitors, so if you think it's oversaturated, you can turn it down yourself ;-)
