Nah, there's already a problem with BD due to the number of audio tracks, additional stuff won't help. :) The best thing would be a 2 disc box and a cool cover.

Give multiavchd a try i got all the audio tracks working i ripped the streams and converted the video to an easier form for multiavchd to handle and it handled all the audio tracks fine and subtitle tracks. I can upload my project files or what not to myspleen and maybe someone more talented then I, can take a look.

Not in the menu though i made them pretty quickly, i was gonna try playing around more with the settings to see if i can make the menus more customized then they are. But all audio tracks appear when cycling with remote.

For the record I've had more than a few but I just re watched it again, when I get slightly sauced I fire this shit up so this makes it about the 5 billionth time.

It boggles the mind Harmy, what you've done here. There is no other presentation worth watching. Fucking fantastic. I'm also going to edit in that Lagunitas Sucks is fucking fantastic too, after about 10 of em laying on the couch and chilling out is also fucking fantastic.

Harrison Ford Has Pretty Much Given Up on His Son. Here's Why

I'm a SW fan but very low tech as far as my computer/online abilities.  I currently own the 2004 full screen SW DVD box set of epiodes 4-6, and I also own the original trilogy VHS release from the mid-90's.  I really want to watch the original trilogy despecialized HD versions and would preferably like to have a hard copy so I can show this version to my son when he's older (he's almost 1 now), mainly b/c I don't think either Fox or Disney will get their act together and release anything official.

I'm ashamed to admit I don't know the first thing about torrent sites, how to obtain the files, and how to transfer to physical media.  Is there a "How To" out there for casual fans like me who just want to see the Despecialized HD presentation of the films but don't necessarily have the tech knowledge to obtain copies on their own?  I'm willing to give it a try but I basically need some hand holding.

The first post in this thread mentioned myspleen, is that still the best place to get the despecialized HD versions?  Can someone send me an invite, I need a username and password.

Sorry, I know this is the most noobish post, but I don't know how else to find out.  Thanks.

OK, I kept hesitating to do this but here goes: I really hoped that by now I'd be able to afford a new desktop PC that could handle video editing and rendering much more easily than my current laptop but what with moving to and furnishing a new flat and my part-time job not paying very well, I seem as far from being able to afford a new computer as ever.

I started doing some basic editing on the DeEd v2.5 bonus docs and it's a total pain in the ass, plus with this computer, I keep getting these weird rendering errors that you can see plenty of in the ESB v2.0 reel 1 workprint, so I decided that, even though I'm not very happy doing it, because it makes me feel like a beggar, I will ask for donations towards a new computer - I had a friend who knows this stuff look into it and he says that for the kind of hardware I need, I'd need around 20000CZK, which is around $1000, so that will be my goal.

My paypal address is harmypaypal@email.cz and I'd like everyone who contributes to put in the name by which they'd like to appear in the credits of all upcoming Despecialized Edition releases, including the SW v2.5 Blu-Ray and bonus disc.

Thank you,

Harmy.

Does the currency of the donation matter on Paypal? I'd rather not send $$$, that'd mean double changeover.

I'm not quite sure how it works. I'm quite new to these things.

EDIT: I see I can add currencies in my paypal account, so I added CZK, USD, GBP, Euro, Australian Dollar, Canadian Dollar, Japanese Yen, Russian Ruble and Polish Zloty. I'm not sure what it would do if someone sent me something in a different currency.

I'll consider putting some in.

Meanwhile - I'm almost done authoring my BD, but I'm not sure about the subtitles - I inserted them as external subtitles, but they don't appear in the menus. Am I doing something wrong?

I'd gladly give you the price of the OT on Blu-ray as I already said, but money is tight for me this month, as I have 2 rents to pay, and even my birthday gift from my parents isn't enough, (but still helped a lot), but I promise I will do it next month.

No worries at all, I seriously wouldn't want anyone to give more than they can easily spare.

Another thing - I noticed there was that "clank" when one of the stormtroopers hits his head on the door - was that always there?

When are you hoping to get your donations by?  I'm going to Japan in a few weeks and would better know my finances when I get back in mid/late-March, but I can pitch in before I go if need be.

Well, I've had to make due with what I have for quite a while, so I can wait. I'm not setting any time limit, I'll simply announce the end of donations when I have enough money to buy the computer (including any money I might be able to save for it myself in the meantime).

I assembled my current desktop PC about three years ago for about this much (i7, GeForce GTX 260, 6 gigs of ram), and it's still perfectly capable of handling multiple layers of uncompressed Blu-ray video. That's not including the monitor though, that alone could be quite expensive. Do you have any components you could re-purpose, or is it completely from scratch?

You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.

I don't have a desktop PC, so no, I need to build it from scratch. I do already have a monitor though. But it's also one thing for the computer to handle multiple layers of video when color correcting and quite another when using more complicated tools, like for example the roto-brush, or warp stabilizer and such. You say you have 6GB of RAM - I have 8GB in my laptop and most of the time it's barely enough. Plus a powerful CPU and a fast HDD (all my HDDs, except for the fairly small system one, are currently running through USB and only one of them through USB3) can really speed up the rendering and encoding, which would be great.

He'd definitely want a monitor with accurate colors (and presumably higher than 1920x1080 resolution)... so I hope that's been factored into the price, as that'll cost a decent amount extra than a run of the mill monitor.

Still, a really good desktop could be pieced together affordably from some less than brand new parts.  Are you or your friend looking to build this from scratch?

Why higher than 1080p? 1440p are quite expensive, while decent 1080p IPS can be bought for like 230$.

Also, with 1000$ budget there is no reason not to go with 16 GB RAM and SSD drive.

Actually, like I said, I already have a decent 1080p monitor, which cost around $250 about a year and a half ago - if I wanted to replace it with a really good monitor, I think I'd need at least the $1000 for only the monitor itself, so no, the monitor is actually not factored in. If I can build a powerful enough machine for less money, I'd of course be glad to do so, though buying used parts is quite a bit of a risk, so I'm not sure I'd want to go that way. My friend only looked into it and said that as a very rough estimate, since at the time, it was only a remote possibility - I will consult it in more detail soon.

Also donated. Didn't work the first time I tried it for whatever reason. Seemed to work this time though.
