Harmy,

So excited to hear of the pending release. Did the above plan work out, or did you end up having to use the old h_h audio? I combed back through, and wasn't able to find an answer between here and there. Either way, thanks a ton.

The audio is the latest h_h; see the other thread as well as the first post above. The original h_h was never made available in 640kbps AC3 form, to my knowledge.

This is such a mixed blessing. On the one hand, I am super excited for this release. On the other hand..ohmygodhowlonguntilEmpireandJedi!?!?! :P

Congrats on your thesis paper and I can't tell you how much I am looking forward to tomorrow!  Again, thank you for your hard work and diligence in seeing this classic gets the treatment it deserves.

My (admittedly awful) attempt at mind-reading indicates that Harmy has plenty of changes planned for ESB and ROTJ, but not nearly so many as he had for Star Wars.  Compared to the Special Edition of Star Wars, the Special Editions of ESB and ROTJ reflected a remarkable amount of restraint by Lucas.

Now would the lack of changes (in comparison) be due to the fact that Lucas was not the director for ESB and ROTJ and he may be respecting the artistic vision of Kershner and Marquand? One can only hope haha

Yeah, those two aren't in nearly as bad shape, from what I can tell. Harmy himself said that while he has changes in store for them, the original DE has already done much. I dunno how much more he could do color-wise, since there is no dye-print of those films, to my knowledge (we only have it for SW according to zombie because dye prints were still struck in Great Britain in the late 1970s and managed to survive being dumped out of storage at Technicolor or Elstree or somewhere). But correct me if I'm wrong

I can't wait for ROTJ to have the original Max Rebo band & no more Sy Snootles & Joh Yowza screaming into the camera!

That's part of why I'd like Harmy to do ESB next instead of ROTJ.  With Puggo and -1 projects still outstanding, there's always a chance we'll get some good new source material for Jedi at a later date.  At the very least, we'll get frame-accurate subtitles if nothing else.  But improved Lapti Nek footage would be awesome as well.

Oh, didn't I say? I'm definitely starting with ESB. I was gonna do Jedi first because I thought SW v2.0 would have been done for months by now and I'd be releasing Jedi first, because I'd be waiting for PSB to be released. From what I've seen of Puggo's ROTJ print it doesn't seem to be in good enough condition to be a better source than a very good GOUT upscale (with You_Too and DJ's new script I am hoping for a better version of Lapti Nek) but it seems that with some cleanup, PSB could be a better source. Also, I will have to redo the colours because of using the BD and working with completely different software, and I'll probably be using Puggo's work as a colour reference.

Hey Harmy what's your favorite original movie, prequel movie, and overall favorite?

Is there such a thing as favorite prequel movie?

Obviously you pick based on best comedic actor.

I'm actually gonna delete this post, since it was kind of off-topic.  The takeaway was that Attack of the Clones was the greatest movie since Citizen Kane.

WOW.  V2.0 is the absolute SHIZNIT.  Harmy sir, you have brought quality to where I truly thought quality couldn't be brought.  I'd send a copy to LFL if I knew it would do any good.

I really don't know how you, or any of the folks here, work your magic, but hat's off to you sir.  I'm able to work some magic with with audio, and I've gotten pretty good over the years, but this stuff is just incredible.

This is now the definitive version for my HD equipment.  Period.

The SW films rank in release order for me (tough first two and last two are on about the same level - first two equally good, last two equally awful).

This thread would be twice as epic if the subject line read:

Sorry that's my fault. I messed up something during the upload tests. There's only one posting in progress.

EDIT: Somehow the indexers combine the parts from a.b.test and the other groups. I didn't want that...

EDIT2: I'll post a fixed upload now starting from scratch. Sorry for all the confusion.

I hate to ask this, but does anyone have a spare invite for Myspleen?  My account is gone.

I really appreciate it.

Does anyone have access to the Project Threepio folder for this?

Can't wait for this! We can only hope that someday Spielberg's good example may help to change Lucas' mind about this whole thing.

(and for the record, my favourite prequel is 'Backstroke of the West' - the dubbed version of course)

PM sent, but please let Harmy reply first before doing anything with my link.  He may have modified things.

EDIT: This was resolved using the official files.
