Absolutely. Thanks to Troyig88's generosity, there will only be a little delay, that's all! The HDTV may or may not help, since they have pretty much the same encoding. And mainly, they don't have You_Too's awesome colour correction. The difference between v1.0 and v2.0 is that I'm using Premiere now and I was using PowerDirector before.

Thank you Troyig88 from all of us!
I must say that even with the little delay, I haven't been worried at all. I've made lots of video projects in the past and run into similar obstacles. Almost everything can be solved one way or another, and I don't think Harmy would simply give up.
Even without the delay, a work done carefully always comes out better than a rush job. And that's why we are all grateful to Harmy for taking the time to correct all those small things in the movie. :)
Yeah, I never thought I'd really give up, I just said there was no point in continuing until the problem was fixed and I was sure I could find a way to fix it.
Now, I need an advice as to what would be the best way to convert You_Too's h264 encode to this format (the same format I render from AE, which seems to work well with Premiere):
Video
ID : 0
Format : RGB
Codec ID : 0x00000000
Codec ID/Info : Basic Windows bitmap format. 1, 4 and 8 bpp versions are palettised. 16, 24 and 32bpp contain raw RGB samples
Duration : 4s 880ms
Bit rate : 418 Mbps
Width : 1 280 pixels
Height : 544 pixels
Display aspect ratio : 2.35:1
Frame rate : 25.000 fps
Bit depth : 8 bits
Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 24.000
1280x544? It was cropped to 542 to fit with your other footage.
By the way, to those talking about the HDTV version, here's a big reason why the blu-ray is a better source. Same shot from both, with increased gamma to reveal shadow details and compression artefacts, blu-ray on bottom:
Yeah, that'll definitely be an improvement there and it is exactly the reason why I want to use the BD and to cut in and export from Premiere - the source wouldn't have made any difference in the compression artefacting if I was still using the shitty PowerDirector encoder.
And as to the resolution, sure, that is the list of properties of one of my despecialized shots exported from AE, and like I told you, all my sources were 1280x544 or 1280x546 (the HDTV source) and then I cropped them all to 1280x542 when exporting the film, just to be sure there weren't any differences in AR between shots and also to keep the cropping about the same as on the official DVDs.
Ok, I just cropped it to 542 to make it fit like it was, without any need for more cropping. Do what you want with it, of course. :)
No, I'll keep it at 542, it only says 544 in my above post, because like I said, those are the properties of a different clip :-)
Oh and BTW, here are the settings I used for the output from AP:
I hate settings on video editing programs. I copied some settings Adywan sent me once shot by shot and got completely different results.

Looks good, though you could probably untick "export audio" if you're not muxing that until later. I wonder what the difference is if you'd tick "render at maximum depth"?
It converts the entire movie to 3D. What do you think the studios do? ;-)You_Too said:

LOL. Actually, it renders at 16bit instead of 8bit (and makes it so insanely huge that my computer can't even play it).
Oh and did I mention that another thing it does apart from skipping frames, is that it also sometimes does a sort of back and forth jerk. It suddenly goes one frame back like in a sequence frame1, f2, f3, f4, f3, f4, f5...

:D
Or maybe it crushes the blacks to make the movie more "deep and dense" just like George Lucas intended.
It does sound like the frame rate information is wrong and its firing in duplicate frames.....it sees it as 25fps but its not....dunno, how many times does it do this duplication in a second?

Thanks to all of you. Even tho its Harmy's project. It sure feels like a team effort.
looking for HDTV of the Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. Also HDTV of The Lord of the Rings trilogy
Nice 1 Troy!

That's the thing, J, it does it very randomly. Sometimes it doesn't happen for a few seconds and then it happens 3 times in one second and it is different with each encode. I'm pretty sure this is not a framerate problem.
And yes, whichever way you look at it, this is indeed a team effort.
So, any suggestions to this? The only software capable of converting to lossless AVI I have right now is Premiere and because that's the reason I have to do it, I need an advice on what else to use (maybe something avisynth based?)
Also, I'm keeping myself busy, making some changes to shots I wanted to use the Blus for. Here's the first:

As you can see, in v1.0 you could clearly see where the patch to cover the added clouds was applied because of static grain.
I'm glad to see things are still progressing on v2 and thank you Troyig88!
I just wanted to post something for the benefit of "dark side powers" that may be watching this thread. The last time I purchased a home video release of Star Wars was around 1992, when I bought the $100 letterbox VHS Collector's Edition. I've been ignoring the parade of releases since then, since there was never a decent DVD release of the original versions (the GOUT DVD is not what I would call decent). Today, I bought the Blu-ray original trilogy set, not because I have any intention of watching it, but because I feel that I need a "license" for HD Star Wars on disc to ethically watch Harmy's version. If not for Harmy, I would have passed up this release just like all the rest.
Cliff notes: The only reason Fox/Lucasfilm is getting my money this time around is because of Harmy!
On a related note, deepdiscount.com is running a great deal where you can get the whole original trilogy Blu-ray set for $28 (at least in the US). Same deal on the prequel trilogy, if anyone actually wants them.
Have you got MPEG Streamclip?, its not bad.....and free
J
What about MeGUI, would it be possible to use that?
As far as I know from using MeGUI it only converts to xvid or h264.
This might be a stupid idea, but have you tried remuxing my file to avi instead of mp4 and tried in premiere? Just a random idea.
Yep, tried that. Premiere wouldn't even open it.
