unlike ROTJ. where i got a ISO File (.iso)
i got a BDMV folder with more folders inside.
i tryed this https://www.dvd-guides.com/guides/blu-ray-copy/260-burn-blu-ray-avchd-using-imgburn
but the calculator gets stuck at 99%?

The calculator just tells you what percentage of the disc the data would use… You don’t really want to hit a full 100%.

This is slightly off topic but hopefully not too much.
If stores like Blockbuster Video were still a thing.
would anybody be tempted to rent out their copy of the
original trilogy Blu-rays. and replace the discs with a set of Harmy’s?
So that more people could see the originals?

No, but I’ve been tempted to do something similar. There’s a farmhouse we vacation in sometimes, and the owners have just a handful of VHS tapes available there, and the 97SE’s are among them. Not much risk of people seeing them, though. They’re VHS. And there’s no VCR there. And there’s no TV there either. Nevertheless, a VHS transfer of Despecialized would be so much nicer, just knowing it was there, even if nobody could watch it.

And here I was thinking I’d be labeled an infidel and blasphemer for being nostalgic about DVDs in the “NJVC sets on Mega” thread.

😃

Many people still use dvd mate - especially us oldies, tight gits, and a few young retro-ists 😃

Long live betamax!

Maybe just to try it mate? To see if we could still do it? To raise awareness of Despecialized? (Despecialized 1 - 0 Special Editions 😉), to have someone sit down and go ‘hey cool, someone put Despecialized onto VHS’ etc, or just for the craic 😃

Imagine one of those cool retro VHS tape covers - but now a purpose Despecialized cover? (put a ‘not for sale - available free online’ retro style sticker on it etc)

I’m not accusing him. It’s quite clear they aren’t the same person. I just want to know
what is up with the weird carriage returns they both
do like this.

You don’t need wi-fi. All you have to do is scan the page, run a text recognition program over it and copy-paste the result on the forum. Really simple.

The Star Wars 1977 video with 1977 audio has never been released on any home video format, ever. Not to mention the quality of a VHS transfer of DeEd would be better than the equivalent official versions.

Also, around that time, one of our forum members (none, I believe) was hypothesizing that you could theoretically do anamorphic VHS tapes these days with fairly broad device support, since modern displays can be (and often are) configured to stretch 4:3 images to fill a 16:9 frame. So you could (ab)use this (mis)feature to make an effective 16:9 VHS instead of your typical double-letterboxed situation.

Hi there,
a small problem here. My TV can only access the first four dubs in the .mkv files and so I cannot select my mother language. Is there a simple method to switch the number of the various dubs?
Thank you!

Depending on your definition of simple you could use tsmuxer and eliminate all but the dub you want. It doesn’t re encode anything so it only takes a few minutes to save the new file and it’s pretty user friendly.

I don’t think it will save as an mkv though, I think it only does .m2ts so you might have to then open it in something like avidemux and resave it as an mkv if your tv won’t take that format.

Come to think of it you can technically do all of it in avidemux but I have always had problems getting it to do anything, it always says it’s going to do something then inexplicably doesn’t do it, so I don’t recommend using avidemux for anything other than simple encoding, or in this case remuxing.

Just use MKVmerge instead of tsmuxer, and do basically the exact same thing.
