Works flawlessly, thanks so much. 2 down, 1 to go. Any time-frame when the ROTJ subtitles could be finished? If its before the end of the year we might just hold off on watching them, if not then oh well.

I dunno, ask Sadako. BTW if I were you, I'd wait for ROTJ 2.0 anyway

Yeah, I was thinking about getting rid of the crawl from there. I think I will.

For the people getting "Forbidden" on the link, who is your ISP?  I am getting the error with Comcast, but if I go through a VPN, it works.

My ISP is Mediacom. I dunno much about VPNs, so I dunno how to make that work. Thanks for the tip though.
I'm going to a buddies house latter. Maybe I can get it there. I hope so!

Harmy, your part is excellent, however a bit long. I think the audio works well at that length; I suggest cutting to other video one or more times while you're talking, which may break things up a bit and depending on content, provide more visual information.

If I lived closer I'd shoot some B roll of you walking down the sidewalk and you could rotoscope a lightsaber (color of your choosing)...

Barring that, an over-the-shoulder shot of you editing would be excellent. ;)

I skimmed through 1.0 and its got some rough spots. Its definitely watchable I just need some subtitles.

@mindlessv: Thanks, that's another thing I've already started on - adding some more visual stuff while I'm talking there. On over shoulder shot is a good idea. Thanks :-)

Bummer,

Seems like myspleen has been overwhelmed with invite request.

Well, as much attention as this project now has, I guess it's ok to mention again that it's also available if you do a search for 'harmy' on [enter name of most known torrent site here].

And if you want the others, search for 'despecialized' on the same site.

I don't think anyone could close this site, because someone said "Thepiratebay". :)

Just to be clear, Project Threepio has Japanese subtitles for ROTJ, and they work just fine with DeEd ROTJ 1.0.  They're just not available in the SRT format yet.

One of the things that kind of bothered me is having an apostrophe 'S' after the name John Williams.  After researching it, I saw that it could be written and pronounced either way, but the majority showed that it should just be written as Williams'   ...and pronounced just as his name sounds.

The plural of "Williams" should have an "apostrophe s" on the end.  http://www.bartleby.com/141/strunk.html

OK guys, how's this:

(It's just the new Oscar intro)

Another tip - sorry :-) I like the "collage" of the Oscar clips, but it would be great to know for what they were received. So something like "And the winner is .... Star Wars" followed by e.g. the on screen text "Film score".

This isn't 100% on-topic, but that never stopped me.

uloz appears to be down.  Not sure what's going on.

Hmm, that's odd.  I hope it's not some USA or service provider issue due to the recent publicity.  I haven't finished grabbing everything and I'd hate to have to grovel for a myspleen invite given all my griping about it. ;-)

The doc looks good.  I have to agree too that shots of you editing would be great.  I love the preservations like everyone else but to me the detail of how you got to the finished process is the ultimate special feature.

Yeah, like I said, there are many references that say it can be written different ways.  I'm not going to go dig them up all again, but one is here.

Rule 1c

I'll leave it up to Harmy how he wants it to sound.  I only mentioned it because I was taught the way that I suggested it.

In en_US at least 's is the proper ending, even if it ends in S.  However, in casual use most people use just ', even for singular, if it ends in S (and I extend to S, Z and X).

- "Introducing the Soundtacks"

I'd dearly love to include this one but I cannot with clear conscience attempt to do it myself - I could do the video side of it, but not the audio side and the script. The request for help with this still stands.

I thought hairy_hen was going to write the script for this?  My apologies if it was someone else (or if he ran out of time) I can't find the original post and don't want to step on anyones toes.

I just really enjoy reading his posts on the subtle changes and differences in the various versions of the soundtracks and mixes.  It always amazes me how much information he can discern about these things from just listening to them.
