Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released) — Page 449

I got it from a thread about those commentaries, which I can't seem to find now. I believe that this one came from some library VHS. There were also three other tracks, one for each film, but they were for the SEs and I'm not sure where those came from.

Hi Harmy, while waiting impatiently for the blu-ray I got to work on some box artwork for the discs. I like the ones you made but I fancied giving it a go using the classic theatrical posters and I tried to keep it minimal (saving audio/despec/video information for an inlay) - I don't know if anyone on here would like them but thought I would upload them in case.

Wanted to run it by you in case you took issue with it at all, if so I will take them down. I purposely left off most mentions of despecialized as to me these are the definitive editions of the movies in HD, nothing else comes close so this, for me, is just Star Wars, and nothing more. Does that make sense?

http://www.multiupload.nl/LJBTB4DZ2Z - new link for better Jedi art.

Also, did you manage to find an appropriate piece of software to make the BD disc yet? I tried to find something but kept running into brick walls but I will keep looking if you are still having trouble yourself.

Thanks again x

Great stuff man, there is always a desire to see other peoples art compilations for the covers, and there is a specific thread for that over here:

http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/forum.cfm/DVD-Covers-Disc-Labels-and-Other-Fan-Artwork/forum/20/

There are lots of great fan ones made for specific preservation projects or just general ones, and more are always welcome. You might also want to just post some smaller image caps there, so people can get a quick view to decide if they want to DL it or not, just a thought.

Those covers are really nice, but I'd change color of ESB's middle part (no idea what it's called lol). The other too films have it dark, ESB would stand out in a weird way.

Thanks ultrakaiju - I have posted this on Harmys covers thread and added a small image of all 3 here, they look a bit rubbish in such low res but people can get the idea I suppose.

Feallan - I was thinking the same but it's kind of necessary in that it's the colour most prevalent in the rest of the artwork... I'll have a think about it though!

Quite interesting - too simple for my taste but I'm sure others will appreciate exactly that :-)

As to the BD program, I still had no luck with that, except for that one trial version someone suggested a while ago, which is of course a last resort and I'd have to get it just before I do the BD and have everything ready for it.

Well exactly, everyone has their own taste of course and I really do like the ones you've done too, just going for a more 'classic' vibe I guess.

I'll keep looking for BD authoring programs, it would be an honour to be able to help if I could.

I can't find the v2.1 ISO to download anywhere, just the extracted AVCHD (the .m2ts file). Any ideas?

Yes, I'll supply header and footer files to concatenate with your m2ts.

IIRC Harmy didn't offer SHA1 nor MD5 hash for that version,
but we've got the CRC from the original RAR's header for a sanity check.

However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…

Right side is pretty dark, it wouldn't hurt.

I don't understand this. I'm finding the ISO for v2 but not v2.1.

As far as making v2.1 into a burnable ISO, can I download the v2.0 ISO, replace the .m2ts with the v2.1 .mst2 and burn that modified ISO?

I was hoping for a Christmas release too, but that's okay and understood, Harmy. I can at least turn the MKV into a BD and share it with friends and family that way!

I'm guessing the best way is tsMuxer?

It’s really sad when the “creative minds” behind something we hold dear are also guilty of its destruction.

As an editor by trade, I hope you'll understand the concept of cutting something into pieces, then re-assembling the pieces.

Well I have Harmy's Despecialized.v.2.1.iso file, and I've cut it into three pieces called:
ABC
00000.m2ts
xyz

You already have the second piece, or know where to get it.
The first and last pieces are small-- about one megabyte combined, and I'll give you them.
You could assemble the pieces to build an exact copy of Harmy's .iso

On a Macintosh system or other UN*X derivative, you could assemble the pieces with a command similar to this:
$ cat ABC 00000.m2ts xyz >Despecialized.v.2.1.iso

On a Windows system, something like this:
C:\> copy /B ABC+00000.mt2s+xyz Despecialized.v.2.1.iso

Does it make sense, in theory?

However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…

Yes, that makes sense. I guess I'm still a little confused at why v2 is so available while 2.1 is not.

I'd like to give that a try with the files you provide. Thanks.

Why on Earth don't you just burn it to disc like it is? Or if you need an ISO, why not just make an ISO from the files? This seems super complicated.

Sorry for the dumb question, but how do I burn it to disc so it'll be playable on a blu ray player? Does it need the proper file structure so it'll be recognized as a AVCHD disc?

Author

Well, yes but all the downloads I provided were either ISO or BMDV and CERTIFICATE folders ready for burning.
