Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released) — Page 423

Hi folks, first time posting for a long time.  Hoping that I can get some help here since I have exhausted tips I have found from Google searching.

First of all, thank you Harmy and all of the other dedicated folks that make projects like the despecialized editions possible.  I'm very impressed with the quality of the DE's.  I hadn't tried any restoration projects since the TR47 originals and was glad to fire up the ol' myspleen account to download the DE's.

Now about my problem.  I burned the DE's to DVD+R DL media and they played fine on my laptop.  However my old 40GB fat PS3 (my only bluray player besides the laptop) did a hard hang mid way through each film on the layer switch.

I did some Googling and determined I needed to get a hold of some Verbatim AZO DL media.  I did that and reburned ANH.  That fared better, the PS3 did not hang hard but still hung and skipped content.  So I did some more googling and determined that I needed to burn at 2.4x speed.  So I reburned ANH again and the problem actually got worse.

I am reburning ANH hope one more time thinking maybe it was a bad disc but I am not holding out much hope, new or otherwise.

I am using Imgburn at 2.4x speed.  I can't find any other settings that I should be changing.  The discs verify fine after the burn and the laptop is fine with the layer switch.  I am pretty much out of ideas and I've tried searching with various terms to no avail.  Can anyone offer any further advice?

<EDIT> I should mention that I downloaded the AVCHD editions and ANH is v2.1

Hey, long-time lurker here who's been excitedly following this project for a while now.

I saw a discussion of best Blu-ray media a few pages ago, and everyone was jumping on Verbatims so I had to make an account and chime in.

Verbs burn beautifully but don't have a good shelf life. The best BD-R media I've used is Panasonic. Some people have reported good results with SmartBlu sold by MediaMegaMall but I haven't had very good luck with those. My burner is a Lite-On iHBS112-04 with PL06 firmware.

Here is a Club Myce thread with some relevant information, including a link to a French degradation study showing that Panasonic and Sony are better for long term storage. Most of the folks over there seem to be of the opinion that Panasonic, Sony, Falcon Pro and SmartBlu are the best BD-R media.

The Panasonics can be bought off eBay or Amazon, just search "panasonic bd-r".

I have requested a myspleen invite many times over the years but never received one. So usenet will be my only hope and I know I'm not alone. I'm patient and sure it will show up over the next few weeks. Huge Thanks in advance to the future usenet poster.

Can someone send me the links to Uloz so i can pop that shit into JDownloade, or tell me where to find them?

The thread isn't up on Paradox anymore, so I can't find the friggin' links,.

I did, but I bought 40 gigs of Uloz premium so I didn't have to sit there and type out those annoying codes, and so it would DL wicked fast. That's why I was looking for the Uloz links specifically.

I guess I could just use those Mutliupload links though.

JDownloader with those Multiupload links are giving me an ETA of 2 1/2 days to DL the whole thing, and my connection is fuckin' fast.

So, does no one have those Uloz links anymore?

Oh, I didn't realize you wanted uloz.to links specifically, that's a bummer, because there are none - I never uploaded the fixed version there. Sorry.

Read'em and weep (Verbatim doesn't fare well as either LTH or HTL):

Their further discussion of other brands is certainly worth it for the one page read. Off-topic (even there) certainly is valuable!  ;)

Oh, BTW, good job, Harmy (here and on the others, too)!

As GL would quietly gush on-set ... "great".

I came here originally because Darth Marsden at the Telltale Games forums (now at Double Fine; we all moved forums after TTG screwed theirs up) brought up Adywan's ANH:R in the middle of a communal rant on George Lucas.

I was wondering where everyone went! Now it's just full of new people threatening TT and demanding refunds because this was their first TT launch day experience. =P

There a specific sub-forum everyone hangs out in over at DF?

Only 13 hours left according to JDownloader.

Told myself I'd wait for the BD-ready release and hold off on the MKV, but couldn't fucking resist. I blame Frink obviously.

(It's what the TTG forums would call "General Chat.")

Hey, I was wondering if I was the only one who has left the TTG forums. It's sad how after BTTF everything kinda went to hell over there. Back around S&M and ToMI times it was one of my main communities over there, and now I don't even like the new design...

For some odd reason the copy on myspleen doesn't download when loading up the torrent...is anyone else having the same issue??

Usually a BitTorrent problem. Try µTorrent instead.

Same here and I think you'll find that's normal (on a Sony anyway) because what you're playing is not an actual DVD but just a file on a DVD.  The only way I can watch it nicely is via a USB stick rammed into my Sony BD player.

I guess if you want it to play as you want from a disc you'll need to wait for the BD version to be released.

I tried making a simple menu with multiAVCHD 4.1 and it's actually quite easy and you get decent results.

I ran into one problem though: Although you can add lots of audio and subtitle tracks to your project, the setup menu of the created Blu-ray only shows up to 6 audio tracks and 5 subtitle tracks. There doesn't seem to be a possibility to extend that menu to more than one page, like the chapter menu.

@Harmy: You said you would use multiAVCHD for the menu of the first disc too. Are you aware of this problem and is there a workaround? If there isn't a workaround, I'm afraid multiAVCHD is pretty useless for those who want to create a Blu-ray with more than just 6 audio tracks. You can still switch between the different tracks with the audio button of your remote while playing the movie of course, but the reason why I want a menu is having the different audio tracks properly labeled in the setup menu.

I really hope I'm just too stupid...

No one likes the new design. We told the staff we all hated it, and they didn't listen to us. So we left. The Walking Dead fans also left and even started their own forum elsewhere.

I know this is completely off topic for this project, but just to explain to everyone else, a short time ago Telltale Games changed their forums to have threaded discussions (like Reddit), use Markdown instead of BBCode, and have thumbs up/thumbs down buttons for each post (like Youtube).

The community moderators all told them during the closed beta for the site that it was a bad idea and they hated it; everyone else told them during and long after the open beta for the site that it was a bad idea and we hated it. But, they did it anyway, and nearly everyone who regularly hung out there has now left.
