I've just watched the first reel of the workprint. Amazing work!
I did notice some slight aliasing/flickering during the opening crawl and a couple of other shots but other than that it was fantastic. I'm surprised how much detail shows up now that the blacks are un-crushed. I also love the colour timing. Can't wait for the finished product!
How can we (from another countries) buy or, somehow, "have" the Despecialized BD?

If someone offers to sell the despecialized edition for money they should be forced to watch Jedi Rocks on repeat, Clockwork Orange style.
I remember paying to see something that looked suspiciously like the Despecialized Editions a few decades ago, but that guy is probably long gone by now...
Well, in that sense, you're not buying the edit, you're giving someone the money for posting you a "blank" disc. That's allowed, of course, as long as it's only covering the cost of the disc and postage.
It’s really sad when the “creative minds” behind something we hold dear are also guilty of its destruction.
I'm still waiting for the reference frames. It's driving me slightly mad, I've already despecialized even the shots I didn't want to and the final colour pass is the last thing left to do. So if someone has some crazy suggestion they want to see done, now's probably a good time ;-)
Add matte lines where there weren't any before.

I tried that but it's impossible to track properly, especially when the camera starts moving and things start changing perspective.
