I used to be able to upload at 1337x until a giant purge happened. I was demoted without explanation. Matter of fact, I can’t even ask what happened because you have to be at a certain level to even ask a question, lol.

So it’s not just me. damn that’s brutal.

Brutal indeed. I had uploaded many torrents over a period of several years with no issues. Then it was gone in a blink with no explanation. Someone said they were cleaning up spammers and other negative things, yet I was never reported as such. 1337x was the last public tracker for me, so I guess it helps to keep my ISP from yelling at me over data usage, lol.

It’s really sad when the “creative minds” behind something we hold dear are also guilty of its destruction.

Well I suppose you could always upload a torrent to Google Drive for the 1080p version. Of course someone already did that for the 4K version so you wouldn’t even have to worry about that one. I’d do it if I could only get the final part 6 RAR file to work.

Boring conversation anyway…

Are there any updates on 3.1?

They haven’t got around to updating the thread title yet from 2.5 to 3.0! 😉

(I hope there will be news on V3.1 updates soon too)

I think the gist of the status is: Harmy was trying to hit a particular release date for 3.0. Now that he’s not operating under that (or any other) deadline, he’s free to hit all the little perfectionist things he might not have had time for the first time around. So I strongly suspect it’s more than just adding a Jabba subtitle and re-rendering.

Given what 3.0 looked like already, it’ll be worth the wait, however long.

EDIT: Actually I can tell you exactly when it’ll be released. My Internet’s going to be down much of the day on Wednesday while a field tech visits. So that’s when. 😉

The things I fixed already:

A bit of further cleanup of the 35mm footage in some places.
Color of the tie-fighters during the initial flyover sequence.
Added the missing “There will be no bargain” Jabba subtitle.
Replaced the shot at 00:13:55 with 35mm, because it looks like ass on the UHD Blu-Ray.
Fixed flashing of lights behind Vader at 01:48:13.

And I’ll use the correct 5.1 audio track this time around.

Am I missing anything else?

I only even noticed two of those things. 3.0 was amazing in general, I’d think there wouldn’t be much left to fix.

If you get a chance, have a look at 00:40:34. Is it just me or does the grain from the UHD has some weird artifacts around yoda?

I lied about not seeing anything else.

In 3.0, I noticed a mid-wipe grading shift at 1:21:38. Not sure if theatrical or not.

Also, did you take a look at the Boba Fett flyby? I know it’s supposed to look janky, just want to be sure none of that is due to source problems.

The UHD Blu-ray is unfortunately plagued with frozen grain all over the place, so there’s no chance of really fixing that short of scrubbing whatever grain is left and regraining and that would destroy even more fine detail.

The mid-wipe grade shifts are definitely part of the original - they are very obvious in all the 35mm versions, including the raw scan I have. I did try to make them a little less distracting but I don’t want to go as far as masking elements and such.

EDIT: Actually, for this specific one, you’re right, it doesn’t come from the 35mm! Thanks for pointing it out!

The Boba shot is also definitely supposed to look like that.

Harmy, if you could also change the 5.1 mix that came with 3.0 into a more authentic one, without the added music to the Luke/Obi-Wan scene, it would be great.

Would there be any benefit to adding light fake grain without first scrubbing the frozen grain? Just enough to mask the frozen grain a little bit?

I should add, I don’t know enough about how these things work to know what’s possible/what looks decent.

Thanks Harmy,
This shot at 2:04:00 has a very different grade compared to theatrical. Is this a 19SE change?

Better encoding setting this time around for your 4k version would be much appreciated!

Updates to my guide for Harmy’s DEED are upcoming. This document is intended to help answer the common questions on how to obtain Harmy’s releases, but is admittedly outdated at the moment. Expect minor updates today and refinement over the next week or two.

When an alternative, verified download source becomes available for ROTJ DEED v3.0, I can provide direction to that. Feel welcome to DM me if you are aware of such options.

Harmy: Can we get checksums for the successfully-extracted files to verify the integrity of downloaded copies? Thanks for your continued amazing work!

Hi
Any chance to check part 48 for UHD at Mega

I am looking for suitable German 5.1EX or 6.1 DTS/DD audiotracks for Harmy’s 4K version(s), does anyone have any ideas?
